Dino experiment 522,
how does baby triceratops
survive update.
So far, we've eaten
a lot of grass,
swam at a pond
and now I think we're
heading back to the nest.
At least I hope so.
I've never seen a...
[groans]
Hey, what's going
on up there?
[sneezes]
Gesundheit.
And why are we stopping?
[dinosaurs growling]
An Ozraptor?
He's too small to take
on a mama Triceratops.
But not too small
to take on a baby Triceratops.
What are we going to do?
[squawks]
Good thinking,
Mama Triceratops.
Don't worry, baby,
there's no safer place
from a Ozraptor
than under
an adult Triceratops.
[roars]
See?
He's leaving.
You're safe now, babies.
Looks like you
want to play?
Dino experiment
522 update.
To keep a baby safe,
the mama Triceratops
will put herself over them.
[laughs]
[roars]
Albertosaurus!
[roars]
She wants us to scatter.
To go in different
directions.
[whines]
Don't worry, baby.
It will be okay.
I promise.
[dinosaurs growling]
Nice defending, Dino Mom.
I can't wait
to tell my real mom.
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
Mom, mom!
Mom! Mom!
Hold on, Dana.
Let me finish my page.
How long is that page?
Have you been
eating grass again?
Yes.
But it was for research.
You'll never guess
what I just saw.
You're supposed to guess.
A T-Rex?
No, but I did see a smaller
member of it's family.
The Giga one?
The Giganotosaurus?
And no, the clue is small.
The Giga's bigger
and it's not
in the T-Rex family.
Where did you come from?
That's our lunch,
and where's your collar?
[Dana]
He's so cute.
[Mom]
Hungry little guy.
Well that's no good.
Don't worry, Mom.
Bottom's still good.
[Sigh]
I'm so sorry.
He is surprisingly fast
and really good at
escaping from his collar.
Hi, Kai.
You got a dog?
I've always wanted a dog.
Sort of.
How do you sort
of have a dog?
Nixon here
is a foster dog.
What's a foster dog?
It's a dog you look after
while people try to find
him a forever family.
But why don't you want to
be Nixon's forever family?
Oh, well, one day I'll
have a dog full time
but right now I'm
too busy with school
so I just help out
where I can.
Doesn't that make you sad
when you have to let him go?
A little bit, but mostly
I'm just going to be happy
that he'll find a family
that will love him forever.
I love him already.
Dana, you were going to
tell me what you saw.
I saw how baby
triceratops survive.
That's awesome.
And terrifying.
Baby dinos
don't have it easy.
First, an Ozraptor
came after us.
This one.
So, the mom stood over
us for protection.
Sounds like a good mom.
Oh, she is but then
an Albertosaurus came after us.
This one.
What did the mom
do that time?
She ran into it and hit him
with her massive frill.
Then all the babies
scattered and she ran away
with the Albertosaurus
chasing her.
Some birds lead predators
away from their babies
or nests
to keep them safe.
So, is your theory that because
birds came from dinosaurs,
maybe dinosaurs
did the same thing?
Yes, that is my theory.
I like your theory.
Me too.
[barks]
So, does Nixon
but how does a mom dino
find her babies
if they've all run off?
Eventually she'll come
back and call for him
after she's made sure
all the predators are gone.
I should go back
and prove your theory.
Can I take Nixon with me?
Sure, but just
be careful with him
because he can
get pretty rowdy
and don't let him get eaten
by and Oberosaurus.
Albertosaurus
and don't worry, Kai.
Nixon will be
safe with me.
Great.
Come on, Nixon.
Let's go find those
Triceratops babies!
[dog barks]
Oh, can I have a bite
of this sandwich?
Triceratops babies,
it's me.
Your triceratops seester.
The Albertosaurus is gone.
It's safe to come out now.
Nothing.
I guess my mom is right.
The Triceratops mom
must have come back to get them.
[sneezing]
But maybe not all of them.
[dog barks]
Do you know where the sound
is coming from, Nixon?
Sh.
[sneezes and whines]
Come out, baby.
It's okay.
Didn't I promise
you'd be okay?
Don't worry, baby.
This is Nixon.
He's your friend too.
Nixon, this is...
we should probably
come up with a name for you.
I'm going to
call you Sniffles
because you're
always sniffling.
[sneezes]
I don't see your mom
or brothers and sisters.
Maybe they're
back at the nest.
Let's go check.
Do you remember
where it is, Sniffles?
[sneezes]
It's achoo, that way.
Come on, Nixon.
[dog barks]
[sniffs]
[roars]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
Your nest
is beside a waterfall?
Lucky you, Sniffles,
but I don't see your mom
or your brothers
and sisters around.
Why don't you wait here
for your family
while I take
Nixon back to Kai?
[whines]
I'll come back
to check on you.
[sneezes]
[yawns]
Aw, he's falling asleep.
Been a long day
for the little baby.
Sweet dino dreams,
Sniffles.
Come on, Nixon,
time to go.
[barks]
Nixon, come on.
Nixon,
come on.
What's gotten into you?
[chrips]
[♪♪♪]
[growls]
Ah, so one day
we'll all have robotic
pals as helpers.
Mom, Kai, guess what?
Hey, Nixon.
Nixon found a baby triceratops
that got separated
from it's family when we got
away from an Albertosaurus.
I named him Sniffles
because he sneezes a lot.
He's so cute.
[giggles]
Is he here now?
No, we brought him
back to the nest.
He's waiting there
for his mom to come back.
You know, Dana,
his mom may not come back.
Some birds abandon
their nests
when there's
predators around.
What?
Well, if the nest
isn't safe anymore...
I've got to warn Sniffles.
Come on, Nixon.
Wait, Dana.
Don't go too far.
Lunch is in 20 minutes.
I won't.
Can you make something
for Sniffles too?
Please?
Let's go, Nixon.
What do Triceratops eat?
[exhales]
Grass?
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[roars]
[chirps]
[♪♪♪]
[roars]
[gasp]
The Albertosaurus.
Sniffles, over here!
Come quick!
Run Sniffles, go!
Come on Nixon, run!
We need to find
a place to hide.
The Alberto is stuck.
Down here.
[growls]
Quick,
before the Alberto comes.
Be quiet, Nixon.
Nixon, sit.
We need to hide.
Sniffles, don't sneeze.
[growling]
[sniffs]
[sniffles]
Shh!
Shh!
[growls]
[sneezes]
Maybe it didn't hear you?
[roars]
It heard you.
Now what do we do?
[♪♪♪]
[Nixon barking]
[Dana]
Oh, no!
He got out of his
collar again!
Nixon, come back!
[♪♪♪]
Nixon saved us by distracting
the Albertosaurus.
[cooing softly]
[Dana]
I know, Sniffles.
I'm worried, too.
But I promised Kai I wouldn't
let Nixon get eaten.
He saved us.
Now it's time for me
to save him.
Not so fast, Sniffles.
I'll go.
Once I get Nixon,
we'll get you back
to your mom.
I promise.
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[Dana]
I'm coming, Nixon!
[♪♪♪]
Hey, Kai. Hey, Mom.
Dad's just parking.
Hey, Saara.
Hi, sweetie.
Um, did you see your
sister wandering around?
It's almost time to eat.
I didn't.
Do you want me to
go look for her?
You know, I'll go.
You stay here and
keep Kai company.
Oof.
What are you up to?
Picking grass for the
Triceratops picnic.
Cool.
[♪♪♪]
[Dana]
Nixon!
Nixon!
Nixon!
Nixon?
[Dog barks]
Nixon!
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
Nixon!
There you are.
You're such a good boy!
You saved us!
What've you got there?
Is that a bone?
[Nixon barks]
It is.
Is this what
I think this is?
[♪♪♪]
It is!
It's a dinosaur boneyard!
I've never seen one
of these before.
This is where predators
bring their prey to...
eat them.
Nixon, we got to go.
[Nixon barks,
dinosaur snarls]
[Nixon whimpers]
Oh, don't worry, Nixon.
Just some baby
Albertosaurs.
[♪♪♪]
Oh. And their mom.
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
What is she doing?
Nixon, I think she's giving us
to her babies for lunch.
What are we doing to do?
They're coming closer.
Think, Dana, think.
Nixon? Stay here.
[Dana]
It's Albertosaurus time!
[Dana]
"Squawk, squawk, squawk!"
Hey, baby Albertosaurs.
[Dana]
Who's hungry?
Looks yummy.
Oh, I'm starving.
[Dana]
Don't worry, Nixon.
Baby dinos like to compete
for food against each other.
Lucky for you
I like to win.
Hah!
[Dinosaurs squawking]
Aww. It's okay, Nixon.
My hat!
Hi, Mama Albertosaurus.
I guess you know I'm not one
of your Alberto babies now.
[Dinosaur snarling,
Nixon barking]
[Dana]
This isn't good!
[Sniffles yowling]
Sniffles, I told you to
stay and wait for me
under the tree!
[yowling]
[Dana]
Look, Nixon!
Sniffles is distracting
the mama Albertosaurus!
Nixon, let's go.
Ahh!
Come on, Sniffles!
[Nixon barking]
[roars]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[Dana]
Come on!
Hurry, the Albertosaurus
is catching up!
[Mammoths trumpeting]
[Mammoths trumpeting]
[Dana panting]
[Dana]
Mammoths!
Mammoths are prehistoric
mammals that lived
in the ice age and
were related to elephants.
Elephants are nice...
Maybe mammoths are, too!
[Both trumpeting loudly]
Or maybe not.
[Animals roaring,
trumpeting, and barking]
Mammoths on one end,
Albertosaurus on the other.
Tusks or teeth?
Think, Dana, think.
[roaring and
trumpeting continues]
[roaring and
trumpeting continues]
[Dana]
Come on, Nixon.
Let's go, too.
[roaring and
trumpeting continues]
[♪♪♪]
Ooh, the Albertosaurus
is getting closer.
[Mammoths trumpeting
loudly]
The mammoths are challenging
the Albertosaurus!
[loud trumpeting
continues]
Go, mammoths!
Whoa!
The Alberto can move very
fast and has sharp teeth.
Be careful, mammoths.
Watch out!
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[Dana]
Yes!
The Albertosaurus is leaving!
That was amazing, mammoths.
Thank you.
I wish we could stay,
but I got to get
Sniffles back to her...
forever family?
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
I guess you're not coming
with us, huh, Sniffles?
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[sneezes]
[chuckles] We're going to
miss you, too, Sniffles.
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
Dino Experiment 522 update:
a baby Triceratops survived
by staying with their mom
or finding another prehistoric
creature that would adopt it.
Bye, Sniffles.
Bye, mammoths.
Say bye, Nixon!
[Nixon barking]
[Dana]
Bye!
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[branches rustling]
[twig snaps]
[Dana]
What was that?
Is the Albertosaurus back?
[snapping, rustling]
[Mom]
Dana, there you are.
Mom! We're so glad
to see you.
We thought you were a carnivore.
Nugget, where have you been?
Long story.
I'll tell you
about it at lunch.
Me and Nixon
are starving.
Come on!
[♪♪♪]
[Dana]
Then, Nixon saved us
by leading the
Albertosaurus away,
but then I saved him from
two baby Albertosaurs.
Then the baby Triceratops
saved us both
from the boneyard!
Then we ran into
some mammoths,
who adopted the Triceratops
into their forever family.
Huh.
Well, I guess we don't
need this grass.
[chuckles]
Who's a good doggy?
You are?
Yes, you are.
[Dana]
He's definitely a good doggy,
and that's why
I was thinking...
maybe we should keep him.
[gasps] Yeah!
What?
No.
That's a big decision, Dana.
[Dana]
Yes, I know,
but Sniffles found his forever
family with the mammoths,
so we should be Nixon's
forever family.
[Dad]
Nugget...
Don't you think it's great
that different kinds
of animals adopt each other?
Of course
we do, but--
And don't you think Nixon
deserves to be with
a family who loves him?
We would love him a lot.
[Dana]
Yes, we would!
So much.
[Saara]
Just look at his face.
We're not saying yes yet.
You have to feed him.
We will.
We will.
And-- And walk him.
[Both]
We will.
And pick up his droppings?
We will.
Dana will.
We will.
Okay.
[Both]
We're getting a dog.
[Both]
Yes! Thanks, Mom and Dad!
[Kai]
This is such amazing news!
[♪♪♪]
[laughter]
[Everyone]
Nixon!
[Dad]
Oh, classic Nixon.
[Saara and Dana]
Nixon, come back here.
Nixon! Nixon!
[trumpeting]
[♪♪♪]
[Sniffles sneezes]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
[♪♪♪]
