You scared me.

All right, are you ready
for a "Deadtime Story"?

Yeah. what do you have
for us this time?

Oh, it's a good one.
I laughed. I cried. I screamed.

You're gonna love it.

It's called "Grave Secrets,"
and it's one of my favorites.

All right.
Are you guys ready to be scared?

Yeah.
Okay. chapter one.

"there was no stopping
what was about to happen,

and Amanda Peterson
knew it."

"even as she watched
Jarrad Clark and Kevin Stewart

"race towards
the back of the yard,

she knew it was hopeless."
Oh, no.

[ baseball thuds ]

I see it!

Your ball
is right next to the shed

where Barnsey throws the rats
after she bites their heads off.

Those aren't dead rats.
They're pine cones.

They're dead rats.
Everybody knows it.

Just like everybody knows
she's a witch.

If Barnsey gets her hands on
something that belongs to you

she can put a curse on you.
That's how witches work.

I saw this show once
where all this witch had

was a piece of this kid's hair
and a fingernail,

and she blew him up
on his own front lawn!

[ sighs ]
what are you gonna do?

Go in for it.

Just don't
let her catch you,

or you'll end up in the basement
with that other little girl.

They say
she's all bloody and stuff

because Barnsey
must be torturing her.

[ sighs ]

please, oh, please,
don't let there be any rats.

She's got it.
Come on, Amanda. come on.

Come on.

And where do you think
you're going?

Help me! Help me! Don't let her
take me to the dungeon!

Oh, I doubt that I'll take you
to my dungeon, child!

Maybe I'll drag you into my shed
and just bite your head off.
