Dawson's Creek (1998–2003): Season 5, Episode 22 - The Abby - full transcript

With the end of the semester, Joey and Audrey pack their things and move out of their dorm room. Professor Wilder also says goodbye to Joey before he tells her that he has decided to leave Worthington to try writing novels again. In Capeside, while Audrey hangs out with Dawson, Joey decides to visit her dad in prison, only to find out he was released on parole four months ago. Meanwhile, Dawson receives a phone call from their agent saying that some big producer in Hollywood wants to make something out of their film. But Dawson doesn't know how to break the news to Oliver, whom he has barely spoken since their trip to New York. Alex is still ruling the Civilization like the devil-in-person and fires a waitress. Fed up with Alex, Pacey takes the opportunity of a meeting with investment executives to protest her employment tactics, which pushes her over the edge. Also, Jen and Jack decide to take an adventurous vacation in Costa Rica, but Grams tells Jen that her parents have invited her to spend summer at their new beach house.

Yeah!

The innocent bystander
always gets it.

Will you stop and try
to appreciate the end-of-the-year...

...rager you're missing.
Happening live, in your dorm.

Hello. l'm participating.

Yeah, but come on.

Who knew the losers we live
with could party so hard?

Some of those geeks out there
are actually cute, Joey.

l know you're single with a vengeance,
but l'm too busy...

...to meet the cute dorks. Dawson
wants to leave for Capeside by 9.

Hey, Joey.

-No.
-No, what?

No, for the 1 0,000th time, l'm not going
to L.A. for the summer with you.

Fine. Okay, then.

l have a better idea. How about
l come to Capeside with you?

-Audrey.
-Come on! Just for a couple of days.

God knows, l've heard enough about
the twisted little place to go and visit.

-You'd have to change your flight.
-Piece of cake.

And that means party time is over.
You have to be packed and stored by 9.

Look at this mess.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Let's do it.

-Ready?
-Ready.

Oh, my God.

Hi, girls. How are you?

Great. Thanks.

Okay. l'm gonna go now.

l'm gonna check on that flight to L.A.

Bye.

Get that water away!

And then Audrey
swung the door open.

And l am so sorry again.

lt's okay, really.

l'm pretty sure l won't melt.

So to what do l owe
this nice surprise?

Well, they probably
would have mailed this...

...but l wanted to
give it to you myself.

The Worthington Literary Review?
l thought this hasn't come out yet.

lt hasn't. Turn to page 28.

But this is a story from
the beginning of the year. How--?

Professor Wilder, this is--

Nothing, if not well-deserved.

This is amazing. Thank you.

Thank yourself, Joey Potter.

Any more chapters to that story?

Well, life twisted and turned
unexpectedly.

He went his way, l went mine.

And now, if only the rules of writing
applied to life, right?

Spoken like a published author.

So do you have
any big summer plans?

Actually, yes.

To the horror of all literature,
l've decided to try writing again.

Wow. Good for you.

What about you?

Are you embarking on the epic
freshman summer adventure?

Well, if you can call going back
to Capeside an adventure.

-At least it's beautiful in the summer.
-Yeah, and....

lt just feels like this year
was such a great step forward.

And going back feels
kind of like two steps back.

Not to mention....

-What?
-Nothing.

There's just something l gotta do.

Well, l look forward to hearing
about it in the fall.

You will.

Thank you again.

lt's me who should say thanks...

...for more than you can
possibly imagine.

Have fun. Congratulations.

Thank you.

Nope. Whenever you're ready.
My time isn't valuable at all.

Morning, everybody.

You're late.
And that's a bad start.

l'm four minutes late.

Do you think l'll be able
to catch up?

l mean, how much could l
possibly have missed?

Tomorrow we are going to be
closed from 1 to 4...

...to host a luncheon for our investors.
Based on this event...

...the board will make a decision
about whether we'll opening...

...a second Civilization
in Philadelphia.

This meal must be perfect
in every respect.

Anything goes wrong...

...l mean anything...

...it's my ass, but it's your job.

Do we understand each other?

Great. Now, the menu.

l want to start with fresh
goose-liver p?t?.

-That's gonna be a bit of a problem.
-Why is that?

The geese necessary to make
that p?t?...

...flew south to the Bahamas
for the winter six months ago...

...and won't be back till June. lf you'd
like me to go get them, l'd be happy to.

Okay. What do you suggest?

Me?

-l'm not the professional here, am l?
-Good point.

Of course, the bluefin tuna
was looking especially choice...

...at the fish market yesterday.
So we could potentially start off...

...with a nice spicy sashimi,
which would complement...

...the asparagus tip and arugula salad,
Trevor's masterpiece...

...and is a wonderful prologue
to the rack of lamb...

...drizzled with plum sauce.
Serve it over a bed of polenta.

Finish off the whole night
with lemon souffl?...

...maybe some homemade
vanilla ice cream.

You're off to the races.
Of course, that's just one idea.

We could always go another way
if you'd prefer.

Could l have a minute with you,
please?

l want you to listen,
and listen closely.

lf you're gonna behave like a toddler
whenever you're around me...

...and you're gonna insist
on testing my limits...

...you'd better be prepared
to reap the whirlwind.

Because we will tangle ass
and you will lose.

And in the process, l will make your
life so extraordinarily unpleasant...

...that you will rue the day
that God created woman.

Now, that's just one idea.

We could go another way
if you prefer.

Hello?

Hey, Mr. Waller.

Okay. Andrew.

l'm good. l'm good.
How are you?

This summer? No plans. Why?

You're kidding me.

Oliver's summer plans?
l don't know.

l can-- l will do that.
And-- Absolutely.

Yes, absolutely. Cool.

Thank you.

-So?
-So, what?

What was that phone call about?

That private conversation
you were eavesdropping on?

-Well, l heard my name.
-l thought we weren't talking.

-We're not.
-Right.

Why would l talk to you
after what you pulled in New York?

Because l've got manly magnetism.

My wit? My enormous talent?

Come on, tell me!
What did our agent say?

''Our agent''?

The one l stuck around to get
after you were too stubborn...

...to admit that you were rude,
and just left?

Okay. You're right.

l felt really bad
the whole train ride home...

...so l'm sorry.

l don't know what it is with me.

l just can't handle that type of thing.

l'm working on it.

Hey.

-What are your summer plans?
-Gonna work at Hooksett Video. Why?

-You might want to change those plans.
-Really?

Fiji?

Fiji has skin cancer.

All right, fine.
Backpacking through Europe.

That's rich. Have you ever actually
been inside of a youth hostel?

No. You?

No, but l can imagine.

Bathroom so disgusting
you're afraid to venture in.

Mattresses so lumpy, it's like sleeping
on a model of the Himalayas.

There's nowhere to do laundry.

There's no privacy. lt's hell.

Then how about Cleveland, okay?

l hear they have
a real nice Radisson.

Explain to me again
why it's necessary...

...to have some exotic adventure
this summer.

Jen, you know why.
You know that Grams has...

...a more exciting life at 76
than we do at 1 9.

You know that if we were supposed
to move forward this year...

...it's a complete wash for both of us.

And we're way too young
to be getting lazy about our lives.

l know. l know. l know.
lt's just, l always hated summer camp.

And this sounds suspiciously
like summer camp...

...only for longer.
And it's much farther away.

Well, if l have to do this thing,
you know there's nobody on earth...

...l'd rather do it with than you.

Right back at you, freak.

Tell me more about this Cleveland.

Oh, yeah, well, l think
l have a brochure here.

Here it is, right here. Cleveland.

Oh, please tell me
this is the last one.

Nope, there's one more.
But l'll get it.

Oh, okay. Next year, if you see me
buy anything at all...

...l want you to tackle me, knock me
out, and shred my credit cards.

People, if you move any slower
we're gonna travel back in time.

My guests arrive inside of an hour,
and we're already behind schedule.

l think we're gonna be fine,
Miss Pearl.

Well, l mean, you know,
if nothing goes wrong or anything.

l don't see why we shouldn't be,
you know, fine.

You simple, simple little man.

What kind of an imbecile
do you have to be...

...where you imagine
that by placating me...

...it's gonna make me
hate you any less?

You've got to be kidding me.

-ls something wrong, Miss Pearl?
-Yes, there is something wrong.

There is something very, very wrong.

lt appears there is a substance that's
been sprayed all over the silverware.

Marie, do you have allergies?

l don't think so. Maybe.

Well, l suggest that you make
an appointment with an allergist...

...as soon as you've got some time,
which should be remarkably soon...

...considering you are fired, effective
immediately, after the luncheon.

Miss Pearl, you can't.
l'm sorry, l really need this job.

l really need my investors not to puke
when they pick up their silverware.

Can l talk to you for a second?

-You can't fire Marie.
-Can't l?

No, you can't.
The woman is raising...

...her 4-year-old child all by herself
because the father walked out.

And she is working three jobs
just to pay her rent.

You can't fire her, Alex.
lt would be irredeemable.

l'm sorry, Marie. l really am.

And l sincerely hope that you find
employment elsewhere.

Best of luck.

Hey!

Hola, casa de Dawson.

This place is gorgeous.

Thank you. Welcome.

So where is it?

The room. The scene
for so many long nights...

...of teen romance and angst.

Upstairs, last door on the left.

-Can't miss it.
-Damn right l can't miss it.

-So guess what--
-Can l ask you a favour?

You first.

Think you could hang out
with Audrey for a bit?

Sure. What's up?

Nothing. Everything's fine.

l've decided to go see my dad.

l've been thinking about it...

...and ever since the night
l got mugged...

...there's just been a lot
l felt like telling him...

...and asking him, and stuff.

-You want me to go with you?
-No, l....

l think this one
l should do alone.

Just feels right that way.

Okay.

-Thank you.
-No problem.

-Bye.
-Good luck.

Thanks.

Yes, the rumours are true.
The unthinkable has happened.

-The sky must be falling.
-We finally did it.

-Did what, exactly?
-Oh, nothing.

-We've been at the library.
-For the past four hours.

-Working on the lnternet.
-Planning a certain trip.

Exhaustively planning
a certain trip.

-For the summer.
-For two whole months.

-To the exotic--
-Beautiful.

-Enchanting.
-Mysterious.

-Did l already say ''exotic''?
-No, l did.

-Right.
-Where?

Costa Rica.

-You're kidding.
-No, we're not.

Jen figured if you do something
like this...

...have an adventure,
you might as well go for broke...

-...and really have an adventure.
-Just like lndiana Jones.

Yeah. Or Jeff Probst.

-l'm speechless.
-And you know what?

lt may be a huge mistake.
lt may be to be horrible...

...and we leave after a week,
but so what?

No matter what,
for the rest of our lives...

...whenever Costa Rica comes up
in casual conversation...

...we will be able to say, ''Good old
Costa. l spent some time there.''

Yeah, because Costa Rica comes up
a lot in casual conversation.

Hey, don't kill my buzz.

l'm afraid your buzz
may be doomed already.

l just got off the phone
with Helen and Theodore.

Parents.

What? What did they say?

Well, it seems they've purchased
a house in East Hampton.

lt's on the beach where you spent
summers when you were growing up.

-And?
-They would really like you...

...to spend the summer with them.

Well, guess the sky is falling.

And without further ado,
let's bring out the first course...

...a spicy toro sashimi,
one of my personal favourites.

l think you'll really enjoy it.

Well....

Could you excuse me
for one minute? Thank you.

What in the hell
is going on in here?!

Where is all the food?!

Pacey, he took the food
to a homeless shelter...

...on the other side of town.

Oh, my God.

When did--?

Oh, my God.

Sorry for the delay, folks.

But we're all right.

You slimy little cockroach.

Hard to believe she graduated first
from her class in charm school.

What is going on here?

You, sir, are witnessing
a coup d'?tat.

'' lt is my unfortunate duty
as duly designated representative...

...of the staff of Civilization to inform
you that, in hiring Alexandra Pearl...

...as the manager of this restaurant,
you made a grievous error in judgment.

ln her short time here...

...she has demonstrated not
only complete incompetence--''

Shut up. Right now. Stop.

Oh, l'm not finished yet.
'' Not only complete incompetence...

...but an utter disrespect
for all of her employees.

She is manipulative,
vindictive and cruel...

...and she has created
an environment so hostile...

...that it is impossible for us
to serve today's meal...

...at a level representative
of our abilities.''

-So no lunch?
-On the contrary.

l brought enough pizza
for everybody.

Mr. Devaney, everyone,
Pacey Witter is a deeply disturbed...

...and highly delusional young man...

...who has become increasingly
obsessed with me.

That is a good move.
You're very clever.

lt's okay, Pacey.

This is clearly the result
of some sort of a breakdown.

Now, l can assure you that all
of his statements are nothing more...

...than the ramblings of a lunatic...

...and in no way are indicative...

...of the feelings
of my otherwise amazing staff.

Actually...

...they are indicative of the feelings
of the rest of the staff.

Really indicative.

Completely indicative.

Pacey, you're fired!

Yeah. Reap the whirlwind, babe.

Anyway, that's for you guys.

Hey, can l have a piece?

-Just cheese?
-Okay.

Hi. lt's still visiting hours, right?

Who are you looking for?

Potter. Mike Potter.

Sorry, miss. That inmate
was released four months ago.

What?

Paroled for good behaviour.

Well, how can that be? l'm family.
How come we weren't informed?

lt's the inmate's choice
to notify the family.

ls there a parole officer
we can contact?

So that's just it? He's gone, and we
have no way of knowing if he's okay?

l'm his....

He's my dad.

Look, l know your dad.

He seems like a decent guy.

l heard he was making a living at the
five-and-dime down in Centerville.

Thanks.

lf anyone asks,
you didn't hear it from me.

We were 1 3 years old. We'd got out
of some crappy movie at the Rialto.

And Pacey spots Christy Livingston
hanging out with her friends.

Christy's three years older
than we are.

He puts his hand on my shoulder
and says, '' l'm gonna kiss that girl.

One day, we're gonna be standing
in the pouring rain...

...and l'll kiss her. And nothing's
ever gonna be the same again.''

-Well, did he kiss her in the rain?
-Nope. Never even got close.

l know he didn't kiss her
in any kind of weather. But he tried.

At the expense of dignity...

...at the expense of reputation
and self-respect, he tried.

Why are you telling me this?

Far be it for me to comment
on what qualifies as pathetic...

...but you have to let go
of your silly romantic fantasies.

l'd be willing to bet
he hasn't let go of his.

That's just great! Fantastic.
Now l'm never gonna move on.

So, what you were saying before
about you wish you could be here...

...and you wish l could be in L.A.?

Grass is always greener.

-l think l'm going to L.A.
-What?

l didn't wanna say anything,
because it just happened...

...but what the hell. This producer
wants to work with Oliver and me...

...to develop our movie
into something more.

-l don't know what that means--
-Okay, wait.

Do you realize that this
is the best news ever?

Let's put aside for a second
how totally awesome it is...

...this producer wants to work with you
and focus on it entirely in terms of me.

l won't have to be alone out there
or hang out...

...with the people l went
to high school with.

l'm saved! Thank you!

We might need a place to crash.

You kidding? You're staying with me,
obviously. Period. No question about it.

l can't believe you didn't tell me this
before. Did you tell Joey?

What the hell are you doing?

l could ask you that same question.

Good point.

Just that whenever the subject
of my parents comes up...

...l seem to have this really
annoying habit of falling apart.

l know.

And l'm just trying not to do that,
and it's hard.

l'll go to the library, get on the Net,
see if l can't cancel...

...those cheap flights into San Jose.

lf we do it today,
we could probably get a full refund.

-So just cross your fingers.
-No. Wait. Stop. Don't.

-Excuse me?
-Don't cancel our trip.

You're spending the summer
with your parents.

l'm not gonna go to Costa Rica
by myself. Are you nuts?

l don't even know if l wanna spend
the whole summer with my parents.

l mean, maybe l'd rather spend it
with you.

Look, we got time, all right?

We got all the time in the world.

We will have our adventures,
l promise you.

But this phone call
has been five years coming.

l mean, you gotta see it through,
don't you?

Why does my life have to stop
and start at their convenience?

l just feel like l'm doing
really well right now, sort of.

And if l dive back into that whole mess,
l don't know what's gonna happen.

l just want more time
to think about it.

How much more?

Maybe if you let me go back
to what l was doing...

...before you interrupted me,
l could figure that out.

Yeah. Sure.

You-- You figure away.

lt's all you.

l feel like the '' reap the whirlwind'' line
was a pretty clever button...

...on our relationship.

Surprised you wanna step on it.

l'm not here to gloat,
if that's what you're thinking.

No?

Never mind.

Wait.

Why'd you come back?

l came back...

...because sometimes
l let things go...

...and l just end up
wondering about them.

And it occurred to me...

...that if l let this go...

...l will probably end up wondering
about it for the rest of my life.

What do you wanna know?

l want to know what happened
to you, Alex.

Because l gotta believe that people
aren't born mean.

Are you gonna save me, Pacey?

No.

l'm just curious.

You know, l have to believe
that in the end...

...people get exactly
what they asked for.

You proved that today.

Yeah, l guess so.

-l'll see you around.
-Yeah, l'll see you.

You need a lift?

No, thanks, l'll wait
for the prison transfer bus...

...and catch a ride with them.

Pacey, what are you gonna do?
Are you gonna walk?

l know you don't have a cell phone.

Come on, l'll give you a ride
to your apartment. Get in.

Come on, get in.

Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.

He's been out four months,
and we haven't heard from him.

-He probably has his reasons.
-Like, he doesn't wanna see us.

No! He's probably trying
to rebuild his life.

He's not too good at that.

We're supposed to help him
through this. We're family.

Exactly why you shouldn't be
so quick to judge, okay?

Just give him time.

Joey, you know, your sister's
probably right.

Your dad's just probably afraid
of hurting you guys.

What if he hates me, Audrey?

lf somebody sent me to jail, l wouldn't
exactly rush back to see them.

Joey, will you listen to yourself?

Your dad does not hate you.

lf anything, he's ashamed
to face you.

But it was just hard enough to find
the courage to go in the first place.

-And now this--
-l know.

But after what happened last time,
your dad knows.

lt's your call whether or not you want
him back in your life, you know?

l'm glad you're here, Audrey.

l'm sorry for dropping you
for the day.

lt's no biggie.

-Did you have fun with Dawson?
-The best! That boy is a gem.

Oh, yeah?

You know he would do
anything for you.

Yeah. He's pretty cool that way.

The last time l went to visit
my dad in jail, he came with me.

lt was like...

...he knew l wanted him to be there
without me having to ask.

-That's a long time ago.
-Right.

Like anything has changed.

l mean, he drove all the way
from New York to Florida...

...just to see you,
like, three weeks ago.

He did?

What are you talking about?

Could my mouth get any bigger?

So, what's next for you now?
What are you gonna do?

What's next?
That's a good question.

Probably wake up in the morning,
look for a new job.

Of course, not in food service, because
quotes like ''complete incompetence'' ...

...tend to follow you
around the business.

You know, l could probably
get a job as a fry girl...

...at your local drive-through.

l'm not gonna feel sorry
for you, Alex.

Yeah, then after 1 0 years
of sampling onion ring batter...

...l will become 400 pounds overweight
and not be able to fit...

...through the front door
of my one-room home.

l'll be fired and evicted
and need to be removed...

...by way of an enormous crane
positioned outside my window.

Why don't you slow down
a little bit, huh?

Then l'll be a big, fat
homeless woman.

-Slow down. l'm serious.
-With cats. Lots of cats.

Yeah, they'll live everywhere on me.
And they'll be in my hair.

And l'll just lay around on the sidewalk
muttering about Oliver North--

Look, l'm serious.
You're driving really fast now, okay?

But, you know,
maybe l'm just being fatalistic.

Maybe it could go another way.
All l do know is, at this point...

-...my life as l know it is over.
-Your life is not over.

No, no, no. You know what?
lt is. lt's over. Believe me.

l can feel it.

l feel liberated and terrified and--

Actually, l've never felt
more alive in my whole life.

This isn't funny anymore.
This isn't cute.

You know, l'm reminded of what
my Uncle Mort used to say:

''You'll never know what you're capable
of until you push the limits.''

Take this car, for example.

Can it make a sharp turn
at 70 miles an hour?

l haven't got the foggiest idea. But
there's one way to find out. Shall we?

Okay, now l'm begging you.
Please!

Come on, Pacey. You know what?
l'm a little disappointed in you.

l mean, l really thought
you were untouchable.

l thought you were shockproof.

You thought l was shockproof?

Well, maybe you're right.

l mean, why am l getting so upset?

l just got fired, l lost my girlfriend,
l have no place to live.

Maybe you're onto something.
lf you think about it, my life is over too.

So why don't we do this? Why don't
we go push this as far as we can?

See how far we're willing to go.
Eighty miles an hour, what's that?

That's what my grandmother drives on
the way home from the gynaecologist.

l want you to drive this car. Drive it
like you know where you're going.

Drive it like you got someplace to go.
Like you know where you're going.

There's something about a fast car
and a beautiful woman...

...that does it for me
in all kinds of ways.

Do you mind if l just kiss your neck?
l got this impulse...

...to kiss your neck. Perhaps you'd
like me to kiss another part--

No, no-- Stop!

-Hey.
-Hey.

How's it going?
How did it go with your dad?

Still trying to figure that out,
actually.

lt seems he got paroled
about four months ago...

...and decided not to tell us.

Wow, that's a shock.

l mean, it's understandable, though,
when you think about it.

What do you mean?

The last time he got out,
and he came back into your life...

...he turned everything
into a disaster.

l mean, if he loves you,
which he does...

...then it's understandable...

...that he wouldn't wanna
repeat that again.

You're right. lt's just...

...sad.

Yeah, it is.

But...

-...could we talk about something else?
-Sure.

Sure. What do you wanna talk about?

Audrey, sort of...

...indicated that you had
something to tell me.

Yeah.

lt's weird, just because it's
a really good thing.

l want you to be
as excited about it as l am.

l'm not sure right now
is the best time.

No, no. Now is fine. l....

l wanna hear it. Tell me.

Here goes. This producer in L.A.,
this really big producer...

...saw our movie, and he liked it.

He loved it, actually. And he wants
to fly Oliver and me out...

...to L.A. this summer to work with him.
And he wants to be our mentor.

Help us get our foot in the door.
That's what my agent said.

And it could be a colossal waste
of time, but l don't think so.

And for the first time,
l think this is the beginning...

...of everything that l ever wanted.

Wow! l don't know what
to say. l had no idea.

-l thought you said Audrey--
-No! God.

l'm so happy for you.

l mean, l can't really even maintain
a complete thought.

l'm-- '' Happy'' isn't the right word.

l'm overwhelmed.

l wanted to tell you the moment
it happened.

l just-- l mean, you know.

You're the one l wanted to share this
with more than anyone in the world.

Pressure. l'm gonna say
the wrong thing.

No, you're not.

You've already said
all the right things.

Well, clearly, l've got problems.

Oh, we've all got our problems.

Yeah, but l could have killed
whoever was in that car.

l mean, in an instant...

...my whole life could have
changed forever.

But it didn't.

You saved my life.

So, what's it worth to you, Alex?

l'm not capable of answering
your question...

...because l honestly don't know
why l am the way l am.

l mean, do you know why
you're so good?

The only thing l know,
Alex, is that...

...you can't go through
your entire life...

...feeling sorry for yourself.

No matter what's happened to you.

l believe that.

And also that it's never too late.

For what?

To try and make things right.

You know what the saddest part is?

Yeah, you totally messed up
your Porsche.

No, it's a rental.

So, what's the saddest thing?

l really do like you.

Yeah, l know. Yeah, l do.

Okay, l will. l'll talk to you later.

Goodbye.

You know those moments
when you totally don't wanna cry...

...but you're not quite sure
what else to do?

What happened?

l talked to them.

What did you say?

l said that l appreciated
their invitation this summer...

...but that l had already
made other plans.

What did they say?

They asked me to reconsider
and l said no, and....

They, sort of, sounded relieved.

-Did l do the right thing?
-Look, l love you very much...

...but l can't tell you that l believe
you did the right thing...

...because l'd be lying.

And l won't do that.

Well, then, don't.

What did l miss?

Well, she's not going
with her parents.

She wants to go to Costa Rica.

Jack doesn't think l'm doing
the right thing.

What do you think?

Oh, well, l couldn't say. l....

Your parents have not
been very generous with you.

ln fact, they've been cheap.

l don't think this invitation
absolves them of that.

-Well, of course not, but, l mean--
-l wasn't finished.

Sorry.

The relationship between
Jennifer and her parents...

...is much more complicated than you
and l could even begin to imagine.

lt may well be unsalvageable.

And while l admire your instincts,
Jack...

...there's only one person
in the entire world...

...who truly knows what's
worthwhile here and what's not.

lf your parents have truly found
a way to love you...

...this won't be their last opportunity
to prove it.

How's it going?

l've got a lot to tell you. l've been busy,
which is good, l think.

Speaking of which,
l lost my virginity.

lt was Jen.

Believe that?
After all that, it was Jen.

l made a movie with a strange guy l
met up at that film festival in Hooksett.

And we got an agent.

Now there's this guy
in Hollywood...

...who wants us to fly out there
and work with him all summer.

l'll finally get to use that
plane ticket you bought me.

l guess there's some symmetry
to that.

But the real thing l wanna
talk to you about is...

...Joey Potter.

ls it still okay, after everything
that's happened...

...to believe that something
perfect is possible?

l wanna be with her.

l love her.

Okay.

l'll talk to you later.
Don't go anywhere.
