Dawson's Creek (1998–2003): Season 4, Episode 19 - Late - full transcript

Gail throws a baby name shower to try and think for a name for the baby. But it's an experience that throws Joey for a loop when she realizes it's possible that she could be pregnant, and Pacey is nowhere to be found. After a series of false alarms, Gail finally goes into labor and forces the hesitant Mitch to take her to the hospital. While Dawson awaits the arrival of his new sibling, he and Gretchen wonder what their future holds when she considers an out-of-town job. Meanwhile, Jack faces an unexpected situation when he learns that Tobey has fallen victim to a vicious hate-crime and wants to keep it to himself.

Your mother's still getting dressed.
What is she doing up there?

There's a lot more of her
to dress these days.

So not what to say to a woman
who's two weeks overdue.

Right. You say, '' Honey,
l've never seen a woman with...

-...a 65-inch waist look so hot.''
-You guys are terrible.

What would be terrible is missing our
last date before the baby comes.

-And if we don't hurry....
-Mitch, we have to go. Now.

-You're telling me. We're late.
-No, forget about dinner.

-Now?
-Now.

-Now?
-lf we don't go, right here on the stairs.

-How long are your contractions?
-Long enough to hurt.

Here.

-l got the bag.
-My bathrobe?

-Flannel.
-Heavy socks?

-Wool.
-Lip balm?

-l forgot.
-You going skiing?

-l'm gonna pant for a few hours.
-Here.

-Thanks. We should call the doctor.
-From the car.

-We'll call you too.
-The birthing music?

-Birthing music?
-l got Enya, John Tesh, Kenny G.

l'm having a baby,
not going into a coma.

-l'll sing for you.
-You sure you have the cell phone?

-What if--?
-We'll call from the hospital.

l guess that does it for our evening.

-Pretty much.
-Yeah.

lt's not happening?

They're called Braxton Hicks
contractions. False labour.

Trust me, there is nothing false
about these contractions.

You're right, but they're not enough
to bring on dilation.

-You're still at 1 centimetre, Gale.
-You sure you're using the right ruler?

So l take it there's no baby yet?

The baby may decide not
to make an appearance for days.

Normally, l'd have no cause
for concern.

-But you do?
-Because of Gale's age...

...there's an increased risk
of complications.

-What kind of complications?
-Now, don't worry.

Then tell us what you mean.

lf stage-two labour doesn't begin
in a few days, l'm going to induce.

And if any issues arise...

...we've got a great facility here
to do an immediate C.

Oh, my God. Do you really think
that is gonna be necessary?

Just relax. Honestly, that's
the best thing you can do right now.

ls there anything we can do
to help the baby along?

Some of my patients
try talking to their babies.

What's your baby's name?

That's a very good question.

We haven't quite...

...found the right one yet.

l'll write you a prescription, Gale. Then
l'll go back to dinner with my husband.

You do the same.

'' Name your baby.''

This assignment is all kinds of stupid.

The story doesn't even have a hero.

Most good stories
have a hero of some sort.

But everybody in here
has all these problems.

Actually, the most interesting heroes
have a problem...

...they can't overcome
despite themselves.

-Like pathological tardiness.
-But many heroes...

...do overcome their flaws.

Yeah. l'll believe it when l see it.

-They have to avoid Water Street.
-They didn't learn that last week?

-l got stuck on Front Street last week.
-lf you two don't mind...

...l'm trying to pass
the fourth grade here.

Hey, guess who.

Just calling to see
if you were back yet.

But alas, no beau.

So when you get this,
give me a call. Okay, bye.

Okay, it's official.

You've become
the neurotic girlfriend.

lt's just.... lt's weird.

Jo, there's nothing weird about it.
He's on a fishing trip with his brother.

l found the most adorable
onesie downtown.

l just had to get it for Gale.

Help me wrap it.

-l'm going to Pacey's.
-Joey....

What's a naming shower?

You know, instead of booties,
everybody brings names.

You people love to invent rituals.

lt's tomorrow afternoon.
Can you make it?

Tomorrow, absolutely.

The day after,
l'm on the noon train to Boston.

What's in Boston?

Well, if my interview for
Cambridge Magazine goes well, me.

-Cambridge Magazine?
-Yeah, they just called.

Right before you came over.

l applied to be an assistant lifestyles
editor, and they loved my application.

They'll pay me to go to concerts
and museums and restaurants.

ls that amazing or what?

Wow.

Speak your subtext, boy.

l didn't know that you were
applying for a job.

Well, l recently made the decision.
l was hoping you'd be psyched for me.

l am psyched for you.

lt's an incredible job,
and l think you'll be great at it.

But suddenly this tacit little issue
that's been floating...

...in the back of both of our minds
has become very real.

We're gonna have to talk about it
eventually.

'' lt'' referring to the potential
continent between us.

Okay.

How do you feel about
long-distance relationships?

Historically, they don't have
the best track record, but....

-But we could be that one couple.
-Absolutely.

One of us could also join the other.

How could l ask you
to come to California?

How could l ask you
to come to Boston?

What's going on? Last week we were
declaring our love for each other...

...and now it sounds like
we're breaking up.

Well, l just think
we're dealing with reality.

Which is what?

Right now, it's dinner...

...by candlelight...

...with the man l love.

You're pretty good at teaching,
Mr. McPhee.

Well, l have to say l kind of enjoy it.

-lf you can just show up on time.
-Point taken, which is why...

-...you're leaving early.
-That's not necessary.

lt is. l've had enough of your grief,
so l'll stay with Will...

...make sure his mom picks him up.
l'll pay my penance.

-Are you sure?
-Go.

-You know how to lock up?
-Why are you still here?

Okay. Good night, Jack.
See you tomorrow.

Later, Tobey.

Will, give me a hand here
with these, please?

Cold night. Buses run late.

-l'm sorry to come by so late.
-lt's cool. Dawson just left.

l need to talk to Pacey. Do you
have any idea when he'll be back?

No, l don't.

But l'm sure he'll call you
as soon as he gets back.

There's something wrong, isn't there?
l mean, this isn't like Pacey.

Gretchen, what's going on?

You know, l told him l wouldn't
do this anymore, and l won't.

What?

Lying. lt's the worst thing
for everyone.

Pacey isn't on a fishing trip, is he?

Pacey got arrested for public
drunkenness while you were away.

Doug got the charges dropped...

...then took him camping
to talk sense into him.

-Oh, my God.
-Look, this is an intense time.

We're all planning our futures, trying
to figure out what to do with our lives.

But if we can't put all that aside, and
try to make Pacey's life easier now...

...he might not have much of one.

He's in a lot of pain.

So you have to promise you won't put
any more pressure on him right now.

l mean, can you do that?

Do you or do you not know how
l can get in touch with him?

-Did you hear me?
-No, l can't promise you that.

How could you
possibly be that selfish?

l'm late.

Joey, l am so sorry. l had no idea.

lt's okay. l'm fine, thank you.

-Did you confirm that you're pregnant?
-No. l need my boyfriend.

-lf you can get in touch with him--
-As soon as they get back, l promise...

...to make sure that Pacey
gets in touch with you.

Thank you.

Joey, l know that things
seem confusing...

...and frightening, but you have to
find the courage to take the test.

That way you can consider
your options. Joey!

l'm fine. l can handle this.

lf you change your mind,
you can come back here...

...any time.

Oh, you guys, l thought
l made you promise, no gifts.

Asking ladies not to bring gifts
to a shower...

...is like asking the sun not to shine,
birds not to sing....

Good Lord. Give her a ball of yarn and
knitting needles, you'll be amazed.

Oh, excuse me.
My kitchen's calling.

Hi, honey.

Dawson, why isn't your mom
on the couch with her feet up?

She's not interested. She's cooking,
she's cleaning, she's relentless.

-Nesting instinct.
-Want laundry done? Make her day.

Come on.

-Hey.
-Hey.

l went to the bookstore
this morning...

...and l looked at some magazines,
one certain city magazine in particular.

-lt's a great read.
-l spent all morning trying to pack.

l have to admit, l'm nervous.
The only real job interview l ever had...

...was with your mother.

-Mom, l got it.
-Thanks, honey.

-Hi, Gretch.
-Hi.

-Hey.
-Hi, Joey.

-How you doing?
-Fine.

Joey, if you need anything
l'm here for you.

Would you please tell my sister
to get a life of her own?

Your brother goes fishing,
and she doesn't know what to do.

-Joey.
-Hi.

Hi. l haven't seen you in so long.
How are you?

Never better.

Okay. Everybody, let's get started.

-Are you staying?
-l....

Tradition is very clear on this matter.
No men at showers.

ln case you haven't noticed,
we're a non-traditional household.

That's okay. We'll leave and let you do
whatever you do at these things.

Come on, Dawson. Let's go before
The Vagina Monologues start.

-Will, where's Tobey?
-l don't know.

You haven't seen him,
heard from him, anything?

Frank, get off that!

Give me back my money, now!

lt's moving.
lt's actually moving.

Where did you learn this?

Generations of women
have done this.

lt was the ultrasound
of the Middle Ages.

So, what is it?

A boy or a girl?

lt's just what you want.

l'd like to go first.

-These are from Bodie and me.
-''Sophie.''

-lt's an adorable name.
-lt means ''wise.''

That's what we were gonna name
Alexander if he was a girl.

-Sophie Leery.
-lf you have a boy....

-''Satchel''?
-He played baseball.

Bodie swore Mitch would love it.

l'm sorry, l just-- l don't picture you
as a stogy-smoking kind of dad.

Well, evidently, it's what you're
supposed to do at a time like this.

-According to who? Larry Flynt?
-According to Mr. Kasdan.

lt was his gift.
l told him l'd do this with you.

l did not, however,
promise him that...

...we would actually light
these deadly things.

So you think any of the names they're
kicking around down there will stick?

l wonder if our inability
to decide on a name...

...means that we aren't really dealing
with what's happening in our lives.

The good news is you guys have...

...had a baby before,
so you know what to expect, right?

Want to know the truth?

Having a newborn in your life
is pure, unadulterated hell.

-lt can't be that bad.
-Oh, but it is.

Unless you have a breast.

Well, a man doesn't really...

...love a baby the way a woman does,
not at first.

A man loves the idea of a baby.

But that changes, right?

One night...

...you're standing in a dark room...

...exhausted and reaching for...

...diapers and answers
on a shelf you can't see.

And this...

...little person calls out to you:

'' Daddy.''

That's when you get it.

You feel your heart expand in a way
you never knew was possible...

...and you love this little person
so much...

...that you actually ache.

l can't explain it any better.

l think you're waiting because...

...you don't want to just slap a name
on this idea.

l think you want to get a sense
of who this new...

...member of our family is...

...and l think when you meet him,
you'll know.

You're a pretty smart kid, Dawson.

lf l were to have a girl,
l think l'd name her Emma.

And for a boy, maybe Jackson.

Jackson Pollock.
Made a beautiful mess.

My favourite boy's name, Kurt.

-Strong name.
-For Kurt Donald Cobain.

And my favourite girl's name,
lsabella...

...after a story that my grandmother
used to tell me when l was a little girl.

There are many flowers
in the garden...

...but the most beautiful
will always be '' Rose.''

Rose Leery.

And for a boy, Thomas.

For someone l knew
a long time ago.

Gretchen's probably gonna
take a job in Boston.

You think it's a reaction
to you getting into USC?

A way of protecting herself?

l don't know.

l never expected her
to follow me to California.

And it's a great opportunity,
l'm really happy for her, but....

Just remember, a couple of years ago
your mother and l got a divorce...

...and now we're more in love
than ever.

So you're saying maybe even if...

...we break up,
we're still destined to be together?

l'm saying you have to follow
your own path.

Because with everything else
in this life, you just never know.

Look at you and Joey.

Well, l was up all night last night,
and l couldn't think of a name...

...but l brought you this instead.

l think it embodies everything
that a name should...

...and it used to belong to Dawson.

At some point, l'm sure his little
brother or sister will like to wear it.

lt's getting harder to tell what's right
anymore, so l hope you like it.

Well, of course it's okay, honey.
Thank you.

l'm sure Dawson will be
as touched as l am.

And thank all of you.

You have given me so much
to think about during this labour...

...instead of my contractions.

You can be thankful you won't deliver
the baby in the middle of a hurricane.

Let's hope not.

As bad as that was, it wasn't as hard
as what l saw my mother go through.

Lillian was an amazing woman.
l loved her so much.

Thirty-four hours after her water broke,
the baby still hadn't appeared.

What made you finally decide
to come out...

-...and make your entrance?
-My mom called out her name:

''Josephine, Josephine,
everyone's waiting to meet you.''

And there she was.

This mass of wet chocolate hair...

...these curious saucer eyes...

...and a pout we all know
way too well.

Excuse me.

Go away.

-You all right?
-l've got the flu.

You don't sound sick.

lt's-- lt's bad. l'm highly contagious.

-Go away.
-l just had the flu.

This is a different strain.
Strain D.

You haven't had this.

Come on, Tobey. Open up.

Come on, man.

-Some flu.
-Yeah.

Don't freak,
it only hurts when l blink.

What happened?

l had a divergence of opinion
on how...

...some local entrepreneurs pay for
their crack, and l lost the dispute.

-So you got mugged?
-Yeah.

Now, look, if you'll excuse me,
my ice pack is thawing.

-Did you report it?
-lt was a mugging. They got 1 2 bucks.

lt's not worth it.
l don't wanna talk about it.

-lt'll take 1 0 minutes. Go to the cops--
-What do l tell them?

That l frightened some people
so they beat me up? Just go home.

Whoa, Tobey--

What is going on with you?

ls it inappropriate or immoral
to get emotional at a baby shower?

lt's more than that. You're neurotic,
obsessed with finding Pacey.

You're creeped out here. Every time
Gale looks at you, you look away.

lf l didn't know
you weren't having sex, l'd....

-Joey?
-Can you just leave me alone?

Are you pregnant?

-What are you talking about?
-l can't believe this.

-What happened?
-l am not having this conversation.

You better watch it.
lf something is wrong, you'll need me.

-Why, so l can hear more lectures?
-So you can straighten out your life.

And have one more like yours?

You think you're better than me? Look
at you. You're just like Mom and me.

No, l'm not. Because no matter
what happens, my life will be different.

You got that right.
At least l have someone...

...who can take care of himself,
not to mention a family. Do you?

Somebody get my jacket!

-What's going on?
-Gale is in labour.

Well, l gotta hand it to you...

...that's the fastest way to end a party
and clear out the house.

Going into labour,
l'll have to remember that one.

-How you feeling?
-l want drugs.

-So do l.
-We'll see what we can do.

Howdy, stranger.

What, are you
churning butter now too?

Grams has the needles working
in overdrive for the baby.

There's something kind of meditative
and therapeutic about it too.

So, what brings you to these parts?

Just wandering.
That's what people do in these towns.

They just wander over
to their friends' homes...

...and ponder their trivial problems.

Tell me tales of your trivial woes.

-Woe is Tobey.
-That boy is in love.

-That boy is on crutches.
-Crutches?

-Seriously? What happened?
-He says he got robbed.

lf l got robbed, l'd be furious.
l'd wanna report it.

-l'd wanna do something.
-Yeah, me too.

He just wants to be left alone.

l think he got attacked
because he's gay.

Oh, God.

-You think l'm being paranoid?
-No.

No, paranoid is healthy, trust me.

He was the guy on top
of the soapbox when we met...

...carrying on about taking action.

So, what are you gonna do?

l don't know. l tried to talk to him.
He doesn't want any help.

-You're gonna leave it at that?
-Yeah, what do you want me to do?

-lt's really none of my business.
-Jack.

-lf l got attacked, what would you do?
-That's different.

No. The only difference is that in this
case, you're exactly like the victim.

My dad is nervous about
bringing a newborn into his life.

Well, it changes everything...

...consistently putting somebody else's
wants and needs before your own.

l think that's what finally
makes us a grownup.

l wonder what that says about us.

l think we consider
each other's needs, Dawson.

Yeah, up to a point...

...and then we have to think
about ourselves.

Should it be different
at this time in our lives?

l....

l don't know. All l know is that
there's a part of me...

...that's begging you
to come with me.

And the other part of you?

The other part of me is smarter...

...and knows that you have
to let people go.

The timing sucks.

l mean, it just sucks.

Can l ask you something?

Maybe l'm misinterpreting things...

...but l really thought you wanted
to sleep with me.

Something seemed to change
your mind that night on the beach.

lt just wasn't the right time.

ls there ever gonna be a right time?

Dawson, if l go to Boston
and you go to L.A...

...getting closer is just gonna
make things more painful.

What made you decide
to apply for a job in Boston?

You're leaving.

And l am so unbelievably happy for
you, but l can't take that next step...

...open myself up like that,
just to be left. l just can't do that.

-l gotta get on with my own life.
-lt's okay, dear.

lt's not happening. Not today.

False alarm.

Here, honey. This should help a bit.

Hey, l'm just as surprised
as you are. l just--

l didn't really have
anywhere else to go.

Come in.

Planning on leaving the country?

No. Actually, l have an interview
for a magazine job in Boston.

How are you holding up?

Well, considering l've turned into this
crazy person l don't even recognize...

...great.

God, l....

l can't believe how ill-prepared
l am for this.

What was l thinking?

You fell in love, you had sex.

Even if you take every precaution...

...it's bound to change your world
completely.

Could you imagine Pacey
with a baby?

You know, it's funny, because l think
Pacey would like the idea of a baby.

l mean, he's great with kids,
attentive to women.

Problem is that Pacey
just can't deal with Pacey.

l know, and believe me, the last thing
l want is to make his life more difficult.

l really need him right now, Gretchen.

Have you told Bessie?

Pretty much.

Right after l told her
that her life disgusts me.

Look, make amends with your sister,
Joey. l mean, being pregnant...

...whether you choose to stay
that way or not, is about family.

And trust me, you're gonna want
that support system around you.

You sound like you're pretty familiar
with this situation.

Last year, in college...

...l miscarried.

l'm sorry.

That's why l came back here,
to deal with everything.

Everything that you're
dealing with now.

Well, you've been successful.
l mean...

...new boyfriend, maybe a new job.

ls Dawson gonna go to Boston
with you?

No, Dawson and l are in
very different places in our lives.

Gretchen, you do know that Dawson
would lasso the moon for you, right?

l know.

But how can l let someone do that
when he's about to leave?

Well, you don't shut him out
of your life.

And you cherish that big part of him
that he always wants you to have.

And no matter what happens...

...you never forget him.

-Who wants to see Andrew Dice Clay?
-l deleted some sappy date movies.

Now it thinks l'm a cynic.

Mitch, the contractions are
getting stronger. This is it, it's time.

Shouldn't you wait a while?

-Just till you're positive.
-Oh, l am quite positive.

-How about Reserv oir Dogs?
-lt's time.

Hey.

l am going to have a baby. Now get off
the sofa and get your ass in the car!

-That hurts.
-Don't talk to me about pain. Don't.

l think she means it.

Was it the ''go'' or ''away''
that tripped you up?

This is Officer Sullivan.
He's the youth officer at Capeside.

-Nice to meet you.
-Oh, boy.

l knew l shouldn't have ripped
that tag off my mattress.

He'll make sure the right people
pay attention to this.

Yeah. Sure.

-l know you're scared.
-You know nothing.

You have to report this.

How dare you come here
and tell me what to do.

-You're lucky my parents aren't here.
-Are they telling you not to report this?

l don't understand why they didn't
make you call the cops two days ago.

Because maybe, like me, all they want
to do is forget what happened...

...which grows increasingly difficult
every time you come here.

-Please, just go.
-The odds weren't in your favour.

-You know that, right?
-Excuse me?

Tobey, you're three times more likely
to be threatened...

...by someone with a weapon
than a straight kid.

There's a 7 0 percent chance
of you being harassed...

...and a 30 percent chance
that someone's gonna...

...do this to you. Which is why l need
for you to tell me about what happened.

Most kids, they don't have
the strength.

Or they don't get the chance.

Or have the friends to support them.

l was...

...waiting for the bus on Market and
1 6th when this guy came up to me.

He was tall...

...black hair.

l'd seen him
a couple of nights before.

l made some stupid small talk
about the buses running late.

And then l looked him in the eyes...

...and smiled at him.

l guess l shouldn't have done that
or something, because...

...he yelled ''faggot'' at me,
or something, and then...

...before l knew it,
there was somebody else.

A friend of his or something
came out of nowhere.

One held me while the other one
just started whaling on me...

...punching me in the face,
kicking me.

At some point,
l just fell to the ground.

This isn't your fault.

All l did was smile at him.

l now know way too much about
the hospital parking attendant's life.

-She's been in hard labour all night.
-How's she doing?

Don't know.

Quite frankly, that worries me.

There's a lot of whispering going on
over there.

l don't like that at all.

-Tell them you wanna know.
-l've been there.

All l get is, '' Relax, Mr. Leery.

Help your wife
focus on her breathing.''

Mitch! Mitch, in here.

Hurry!

l'm glad you're here.

-What are you doing up?
-l get up at dawn every morning.

lt's the only time l have to myself.

l spent the night at Gretchen's.

Do you know l once climbed
into your crib and pushed you out?

Did you drop me on my head?
Because that would explain a lot.

Before you came along,
Mom and l had a good thing going.

l hated you.

You hated me
because you were jealous...

...hated me because l was
taking your mom away...

...but mostly you hated me because
you knew you had to take care of me.

l really did want your life
to be better than mine.

Bessie, you went first.

You took on the full brunt
of the storm...

...and you didn't do what others
would have. You didn't run.

You didn't cower.

You created this
warm, loving, safe place.

And you raised a baby...

...and a little sister.

l hope l would have the strength
and courage...

...to create a life for myself
that's even remotely like yours.

l just want you to know l love you,
and l'm here for you if you want me.

Mama.

Mama.

Another day.

-What now? Oprah?
-l'm not going to tutoring without you.

lf you haven't noticed,
l'm not exactly presentable.

-Then we'll say you fell skateboarding.
-They're kids, not imbeciles.

Fine. We'll tell them you fell off
your high horse.

Whatever. You're not gonna sit around
the house all day. Get your coat.

What's this? A few of months ago, you
were all about not getting involved...

...and suddenly you're
some big homo activist.

Maybe l'm just a Tobey activist.

As much as my ego would like
to buy that piece of merchandise...

...it somehow doesn't quite fit.

What's happened to you, Jack?

lt's more like,
what's gonna happen to me?

Some day l'll want to walk through
the park holding some guy's hand...

...and what if l forget to look around
first? What if the wrong people see?

We're not so different, you and l.
l used to think we were, but we're not.

You know, if l would have left earlier,
it would have been me.

And you're just now realizing this?

Yeah. Better late than never.

Yeah. And better on time than late.

Man, it's way too early in the day
for one of your lectures.

lf you were really a Tobey activist, you
would've carried me down the steps.

Don't push your luck.

How is she?

She's been in there all night
and all day.

l'm getting the impression things
aren't progressing as they should.

lt can be a long process.

Yeah, l'm sure she'll be fine.

Hey. Hey.

Excuse me.

Excuse me.

Dawson.

A couple of weeks ago,
l'm wandering these halls...

...praying for somebody to die. Here
l am, praying for somebody to be born.

ls it just me, or did life
suddenly broaden this year?

lt's not just you.

l...

...think the stakes have been
raised for everyone.

Have you and Pacey talked about
him being in Worthington next year?

We haven't really discussed
the future too much lately.

You should.

lt has a peculiar way of unexpectedly
becoming the present.

Dawson, Gretchen is crazy
about you.

-She told me last night.
-You probably also know...

...she's on a train to Boston,
where she'll probably be living.

You're certain that there's no way
to bridge the gap?

l was hoping that there would be,
but l...

...don't think that's gonna happen.

Dawson...

...it's not what l thought
it was gonna be.

-What's that?
-Sex.

-lsn't that what you're talking about?
-Jo.

Well, l want you to know something.

Sex doesn't necessarily
bring people closer together.

lt's just a magnifying glass.

l mean, if there's a problem,
it gets bigger...

...and if there's closeness,
you get closer.

As far as you and Gretchen
are concerned, l mean...

...you guys are probably closer than
a lot of people who are having sex.

Someone wants to meet you, Dawson.

Really?

lsn't she just gorgeous?

lsn't she perfect?

She?

You have a sister, Dawson.

And l have a daughter.

She's so small.

-She's so beautiful.
-Congratulations.

l see both of you in her.

Well, she wasn't sure
she wanted to join us today.

No, it took a lot of coaxing.

How'd you finally get her
to change her mind?

l just started calling out her name:

'' Lillian. Lillian.

Everyone's waiting to meet you.''

And there she was.

Lillian.

Honey, do you wanna hold her?

Oh, yeah.

There we go.

There we go.

Hello, Lillian.

l'm Dawson.

Your big brother.

Welcome to our family.

Couldn't have picked a better one.

-Hello.
-Hey.

Gretchen told me l had to call
immediately. What's wrong?

Actually, nothing.

l thought l had a huge problem...

...but l was wrong.

What kind of problem
did you think you had?

It's nothing that you
should worry about.

The important thing is that
you focus on yourself.

Where are you?

l told you, l'm fishing with Dougie.

We're having a great time.

Caught a 90-pound marlin
yesterday.

We're living the high life, Jo.

The high life.

You and l gotta
get out here sometime.

Yeah, we will.

We'll have to do that real soon.

Yeah.

l miss you.

l miss you, Pace.

l thought you had a train to catch.

You know the best thing
about trains?

There's always a later one.

-This is crazy.
-lnsane.

What are we doing?

Prolonging the inevitable.

Living in denial.

Who knew denial
could feel this good?

-You know there's no hope for us.
-How could there be?

We're headed in different directions.

Might as well be going
to different planets.

We should really break up
right now.

-Just get it over with.
-l agree.

l never wanna see you again.
