Kiera and John Doe realize their relationship is doomed as forces push them to opposing sides in a larger conflict. Scar Alec sacrifices his hard-won desire for a simpler life, and deposes Alec from Piron, only to discover Kellog has been making his own game-changing moves. John Doe activates a beacon, his last test to see if his mission was a success and he and Kiera must deal with the outcome.
