Let's go!

NC! NC! NC! NC!

NC! NC! NC! NC!

You can't stop till the end!
The music will not stop for you!

Let's go!

We got this, okay?

- We're the baddest bitches here!
- Let's go!

- Show them how bad you want it! Let's go!
- Game time!

It's been a very difficult year.
We have had a rollercoaster.

A lot of great opportunities
and a lot of awful times.

Really the only reason I even wanted
or agreed to do the docuseries

was just to show
the athleticism and the hard work,

and I had no idea
that it would get crazy like it did.

So...

I didn't know
the other side of that existed.

That... the hate, the negativity, the...

using the headlines to...

you know, to tarnish...

you know, the things you work towards, so...

It's been hard. Definitely been hard.

Good morning. This story comes as a shock
to many fans of that Netflix show Cheer.

Jerry Harris was interviewed
by law enforcement this week

and now this arrest.

The FBI confirms to CBS 2

it conducted a court authorized
law enforcement action

in Naperville here at this house,
where neighbors tell me Harris now lives.

He appeared before
a federal judge just a few hours ago.

Prosecutors say he exchanged

sexually-explicit photos
and videos with a boy on Snapchat.

Harris is facing a mandatory
minimum 15-year sentence if convicted.

A large co-ed junior
college division from Corsicana, Texas.

Let's hear it for Navarro College!

I can't even wrap my head
around how I should feel.

I don't know, so...

This has been a tough year.

But then there's just
these moments that are so...

wonderful.

These little moments of success
that keep you coming back.

Just the... the little things that add up.

How do you move forward?

I keep putting one foot
in front of the other.

Every single day.

Don't have a choice.

What's it like

Basically, one of the reasons why I wanted
to come back was after the show aired,

it really made me realize how much
I truly miss this place,

She did get into a bit

She did have to sit out
in the fall semester.

I felt like she had enough, you know,

When we last saw you,
it seemed like you were done with Navarro,

What's a mat talk?

Good morning, y'all! Let's go!

You saw them on Netflix,
Cheer season one.

No, not Navarro College, the other team,
Trinity Valley Community College.

Inside this gym, in the home
of 11-time national champions,

a junior college team
that's gained national attention appearing

on Netflix's season one of Cheer,
but the show wasn't about them.

It was about their rivals,
Navarro College.

Three, two, one.
As they tumble into a new season...

their goal is to get back on top.

Okay.

Yes, ma'am.

Okay.

Did that look okay?

First off, can I get your name?
And spell it out, and your title.

Vontae Johnson. V-O-N-T-A-E J-O-H-N-S-O-N.

And I'm the Head Coach
of Trinity Valley Cheerleading.

- How many years have you been head coach?
- Three years.

Anything people should know
about you guys?

We don't go and get Instagram people.
Those are the hardest people to coach.

I don't need the most
famous people in the world, so...

Don't come to the Valley
just because you wanna be famous.

Come because you wanna be the best.

Who are we? Trinity! TCC!

Cheerleaders! We're the ones
that you come to see.

Double ones are on the shelf!

We will make it! Number 12!

And they have no choice
but naming us national champions.

What's up? All right!
Welcome to our clinic today.

I would love to welcome
all of you guys to Trinity Valley,

and we are really excited
to have you guys here with us.

- Hi, how are you? Vontae.
- Hi, I'm Jenny Miller.

- Which one's yours?
- Katherine Miller here in the black.

Okay, okay. Yes, Kat.

Let's go!

- You're dirty!
- Was that cleaner?

Yes, that was clean as hell.

TVCC and Navarro both
can get you to be able to go

anywhere D1 you want to go.

Exactly, yes.

Navarro didn't start off strong
the way they are now.

When they first started out,

the athletes that didn't make
Trinity Valley's team would go to Navarro.

Back in the day, Navarro was
just another team in the conference.

Kids would go
to Trinity Valley for tryouts.

If they didn't make
Trinity Valley tryouts,

they went to Navarro,
and they made the team there.

And then Monica started to figure
out her formula to make things successful.

Once you start to win,

athletes will start
to get drawn by the winning.

So she's spinning,
and you're trying to grab her right foot.

It's always gonna be over your left eye.

I started in 2011, and I've got
my own idea of how Trinity Valley

got so far behind so fast.

Somewhere down the road,
TVCC made a "no All Star teams" decision.

If you were a Trinity Valley cheerleader,

you were not allowed
to compete on All Star teams.

All Star cheerleading is
a totally different world.

It's not related at all to middle schools,
high schools, college.

It's associated with a gym.

And so, for every one super-talented
athlete we got, they got five.

And that was just a hard battle.

It makes it really difficult
to get people to come to a school

when they only want to go
to the famous school.

I don't fly.

Oh yeah, you do.

You're gonna fly today, girl.
We'll teach you how to fly.

- You'll teach me?
- Yeah, we'll teach you how to fly.

- Okay.
- Okay.

You got it. Let's go.

You got it! Hollow out!

- There you go!
- That wasn't bad.

- Did I arch again? Okay.
- No, that was good.

- Okay.
- Did you see the back wall?

- No.
- Look for the back wall, okay?

Monica recruits athletes
that are like showmen.

They like to show off how good they are,

whereas, you know,
I choose athletes off their character.

I don't believe that anybody
can't be taught to be able to do things.

Perfect, right there.

Yeah!

I got a new flyer! Her name's Aliyah!

Just wanted to let you know!

- It's a big group.
- Yes, it is.

But no matter how much
of a family you might want,

you still want
to have a championship ring,

so that's where me as an athlete,
I'm the ultimate rival.

When I was cheering,
my mindset was how I was in football.

I'm out to destroy you.
I'm not here to be your best friend.

Navarro and Trinity Valley
battling it out yet again,

and now it's in the hands of the judges,
and that's not an easy spot.

In second place with a 97.40,
Navarro College!

And your 2017 junior college
national champions

with a 98.30,
Trinity Valley Community College!

TVCC is strong.

You know, if Navarro even slips up for
a second or doesn't train hard this year,

Trinity Valley is right there
to snatch the title from them.

We don't know how good they are.
They could be the best they've ever been.

I mean, I heard
their tumbling's sick, like, badass.

I was always taught, you know,
it's not win or lose.

It's about, you know, being a team.

- Well, in Texas, it's about winning.
- About winning.

If there's a football game
or a basketball game or...

whether it's the Daytona trip,

whatever it might be in athletics,
baseball, softball.

That's always been our rival
just because it's right down the road.

Every year, they're going in
to win the national championship.

And anything short of that is not
a successful season in their minds, so...

This year's no different.
Coach Vontae, he's a huge part of that.

Vontae is an exceptional athlete.

He tumbles. He stunts.

In fact, he's represented Team USA
multiple times at the world championships.

Now, we didn't win
last year or the year before, so...

we want... We want it back.

Last year, we thought we had it.

And that's what made it so much more
disappointing and so much more painful.

We had a tumbler over here
who did a full double.

And then Navarro had this other routine

where this man completely blows
his ankle, has to stop the routine.

Stop the routine.
Please, stop the routine.

You have 30 minutes to prepare,
to go back out, to do the routine again.

You have one shot. You have two shots.

What the hell?

- Here's to you.
- Here's to you.

- Here's to me.
- Here's to me.

- National champs...
- National champs...

- we're soon to be.
- we're soon to be.

- And if the judges disagree...
- And if the judges disagree...

- Fuck them!
- Fuck them!

- Here's to we.
- Here's to we.

In second place
with a 97.2875,

Trinity Valley Community College!

When we heard our second place,

it was the most
devastating moment I have ever...

been through when it comes to sports.

And our junior college
national champions with a 97.8375,

Navarro College!

Daytona was the reason
I came back this year.

Losing the past few years
and bringing on that come up,

I mean, who doesn't like
an underdog coming for the win?

We're used to the David and Goliath
type of thing, but, uh...

Goliath is looking awfully big right now.

It's hard to compete against her
because of the machine that she has built.

For Monica
to be at the age she's at,

and for her still to be
where she is, is phenomenal

because it's a tough sport
to stay evolving with.

And if you're not
one step ahead of the game,

your competition is gonna be
right on your heels.

That happens to
a lot of coaches in our sport.

They get to a certain point,
and the evolution ends.

Then, all of a sudden,
the next wave of coaches passes them.

I probably would rather be Vontae
and not Monica at this point,

but that's just me.

- Good morning.
- What you got?

- Twenty thousand dollars.
- Good for you!

I know.

- You know how you can spend it?
- How?

Yeah, I know how I can spend it.

I got lots of ways to spend it.
Lots of ways.

Custom stage.

- Hello. Grandstands, this is Danny.
- Hi. Do y'all, um, build stages?

Yeah, yeah.
That's... that's all we do.

Okay. Perfect.

- Let me tell you what I need. 66 by 56.
- Around four feet tall? Okay.

Gotta be honest with you.
Probably gonna be closer to 100,000.

Okay. $100,000. That's great.

My biggest thing
about Daytona is preparation.

To prepare mentally and physically for
everything that we're gonna experience.

We practice on a gym floor every day,

but when we go to finals, it's on a stage.

And the difference between
a stage and the gym floor is

there's a little bit of give.

And what can happen,
and what has happened three years ago,

two girls had tumbling mistakes
which they never did, ever.

That's why we're building a stage!

And so I've been
kind of terrified ever since then.

Like I really need
that final piece of preparation

to make myself feel better going in.

So, we just got
a big donation from Ellen, so...

hopefully, fingers crossed, we'll have
a stage to practice on before Daytona.

Okay, ready?

- Push!
- Push, girls! Yeah!

That was so good.

In my experience
of eight years in Navarro,

not one team has been this talented.

Since day one of the first semester,

I've been stressing to the team
that our goal is to get a 99 this year.

I think this team can do it.

Five! Six! Four, five, six!

That girl does not know
how good she is. She has no idea.

This year's team is amazing.

The talent is ridiculous,
and I'm really excited to get started.

We're gonna do a skills check.
We're gonna try people in different spots.

Friday, we'll have mat tryout.

Some of those last spots
are gonna be a battle,

but your attitude will make or break you.

If the attitude's not good,
you won't be going to Daytona.

There's all these kids
coming in that have

like so much confidence and talent, like,
"These kids are showing me up."

We have so much talent,
it's gonna be so hard to pick mat.

Hey, we're gonna start
with the boys! So, get off the floor!

There's just so much talent
in this rookie class.

I want to use the word "magical."
Their technique is just unbeatable.

Maddy Brum is one of our best
all-around athletes.

You can't
take your eyes off of her.

She will drill herself if she
does not get something absolutely perfect.

But I mean, it pays off
because she's incredible.

Cassadee is very talented.
Her tumbling is insane.

She has a very high level of perfection
and puts a lot of pressure on herself.

Payton, his technique is beautiful,
and he's just so fun to watch.

Gillian's really good at stunting.

She can do the basket tosses beautifully.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough spots
on the mat to put them all out there.

We have 40 people
on the team and 20 make mat.

They really got a full plate.

They'll get mad if they don't get
the spot they wanted,

but a lot of people have to understand
that Monica knows what she's doing.

I think there's gonna be some people
who aren't on mat who we thought would be.

Definitely. We have La'Darius
and Lexi coming back,

which none of us could have expected
those coming back.

When a veteran comes back,
it's never easy for the first years

because this person just jumps right in.

It is a little frustrating
for some of the rookies

because by people coming back,

it's them taking
their spot back on the mat,

so that doesn't give other people
opportunity to be able to make mat.

I feel like this year is
a little more competitive,

especially with people
like La'Darius coming back.

They brought in a whole other, like,
you're either gonna push in or push out.

- Oh my God!
- Showing off.

There might be people
that are like, "My gosh."

"My spot!
My tumbling spot!" Then do better.

Everybody has a humbling
moment when they get to Navarro.

It's tough, baby!

You are going against girls that can fly
just as good or better than you.

You're going against tumblers
that can tumble just as good or better.

Same with stunts.

This year, I feel like
my chances are better.

I feel like my technique has
really cleaned up,

and that's really
all Monica really looks for.

I would truly feel on top of the world.

I don't know. So, Allie versus...

You can't take
any of these other girls off.

We all have that competitive
nature. That's why we like cheerleading.

You don't want anybody
to have to, like, not be on mat.

But it's like, I also want to do it.
So, it's like, crazy.

Sometimes your role is to be on mat,

and sometimes your role is to support.

You need to be a good teammate
no matter what your role is.

And you need to be positive because
negative can tear everybody down fast.

- Have you even been in my dorm yet?
- No, it's cute.

Thanks!

It's like a jungle in here.

I want it to be, like, full of plants.

I want it to be super boho.

What kind of styles are your fave?

I don't really know.

We just kinda travel from house to house.
Well, we used to.

Whatever made it through the move
is really hung up in the house.

It's kind of...

Hey, Charlotte. It's Lexi from Cheer.

Your husband, Tim, reached out to me,

and he wanted me to give you
a happy 40th birthday cheer!

I see what he did there.

Hey, Phil and Shirley.
It's Lexi from Cheer.

I wanted to congratulate you
on your new organization.

What y'all do is truly amazing.

Roses are red, violets are blue,

you're finally a legal adult,
happy birthday to you, Kaylee!

I actually got that one
without messing up!

That was funny.

I get $50 for each video I make,
but you can set your own price.

I started at 25, and I moved it up to 50,

thinking that people were going
to stop booking me, but they didn't.

You need to freaking have
a Cameo account because, honestly, like...

Yeah, mine would be, like, two dollars.

And five, six, seven, eight.
One, two, three, four, five... seven.

And one, two, three,
four, five, six, seven, eight...

Much better, baby. That was so good.

- You weren't kidding about Maddy.
- She's so good.

- Well, you saw her on Ellen.
- Oh, yeah. Right.

- I mean, just her lines are like, mm...
- She's so good.

Good stuff.

My strength as a cheerleader
would be the way I approach performing.

When I was little, I was always
the person that would be like,

"Hey, can you watch this?
Can you watch me do this?"

"Can you watch me do this?"

And my mom would be like,
"Maddy, leave me alone."

When I joined cheerleading,
instead of asking people to,

my goal was to make people
want to watch me.

Yes, ma'am!

I like when people compliment me

and tell me I'm doing good
at what I'm doing.

With, like, all the money
that goes into All Star programs,

and all the money
that goes into everything,

I never really got things handed to me,

and I never expected myself
to leave Massachusetts ever.

So, it was really hard
for me to come here.

But I knew that if I came here,

Monica was gonna show me
what I deserve to be.

I knew that I would want to stay here.

And I would want
to make the difference for myself to...

cheer all the time and be the best
I can be as a cheerleader

because Monica
just makes you want to be better.

That look she gives you
when you're doing something right,

it's like you grow as an athlete,
and you grow as a person.

During the whole week of mat tryouts,

Monica looks at what you do
every single day.

As long as I try 100% all the time,

then I think I have a good shot.

You can say
you're a Navarro College cheerleader,

but it doesn't mean
you can step on the bandshell.

Kenny, hands on your hips, smile.

- You're supposed to be in line with Tyler.
- Five, six, seven!

- Me too.

- There's your energy?
- Here's my energy.

I like the way the car drives.

I know.
It's a little awkward at first.

Brooke's car broke down,

so we had to come up with
a quick solution for her to get around.

And she doesn't live on campus,
so she's gotta get to school,

she's gotta get to practice,
she's gotta get to work.

And what did you do
to get her the car?

I used money I had for Daytona on the car.

I didn't notice it when I was younger,
but now that I grew up,

I realized how much she really just

always did stuff for us
and never did stuff for herself.

I think the worst thing ever
is to see your mom cry,

and I had to see it a lot.

We struggled, but we do what we had to.

I ended up losing my house.
I... I kept it for as long as I could.

Uh, but with cheerleading...

'cause they both
did All Star cheerleading,

which is a very expensive sport.

Being a cheerleader
was everything to them,

and I didn't want them to lose that too.

I've been cheerleading
for 16 years,

and I've looked up
to Gabi Butler since I was 13 or 12,

I don't know, when she first came out.

I saw her, and I was like,
"Wow, she's really good."

And then, a few years later, I made a team
that she was good enough to be on.

To me, that was a confidence booster
because I was like, "Wow."

I literally idolized her.

- Three, four!
- Up top!

This is my last season
at Navarro.

I didn't make mat last year,
and I really let that get to me.

But I went home,

and I worked with my coaches,
and I wanted to get better.

To be accepted into
one of the top programs in the country,

it's what you work for
since she was four years old on Minis.

It's what you work for.
This is it.

You know, it's the best.

- I'm really nervous.
- You got it.

- I'm always so nervous to talk to her.
- She's not that scary. I promise.

I'm competing against
a lot of other girls for only five spots.

Me, Morgan, Allie,
Maddy Brum, Faith, and Gill.

So, yeah, there's quite a few of us,
and everyone is so talented.

Hey, Monica. If you're not busy,
do you think we could talk?

- Yeah.
- In your private office.

- In my office?
- Yeah.

Brooke is such a great student,
and cheerleader, and teammate,

but she's definitely weaker
in those athletic skills

as far as tumbling, jumping.

I was wondering if you had
suggestions on what I should work on.

Because of the way
the routine is, I would have...

It's tricky, you know.

Because if I put you in,
someone that's gonna...

base that pyramid or mid that pyramid,

that it could possibly be
a tumbling person,

which that wouldn't be
a good role for you.

And is there anything else like,
besides my tumbling to work on?

I would say,
we're not talking a full,

but being able to be strong enough
to hit all those skills to back tuck.

- Okay.
- Does that make sense?

- We can tweak things to back tuck.
- Okay. Thank you.

It's gonna be so hard to pick mat
because everybody's so good.

Then when you start really
getting down to the nitty-gritty...

They're all so good.
There's just really limited spots.

There are about 40 of us
on the team right now.

Twenty people make mat,
so I'm extremely nervous.

The only thing
that I'm really worried about is,

on Friday, we have
mat tryouts for Daytona.

Try out to see if we can be one of the 20.

It's hard for me
to know if I'll be on mat.

I guess we'll see
what happens in the end.

At the end of the day,
as coaches,

we just have to make decisions
that are best for the team.

There's no guarantee, you know,

if you are a freshman, a sophomore,
that you're gonna be on the mat.

I haven't really seen
anyone let it get to their head,

but when they do
let it get to their heads...

it'll show on the mat.

It's really hard, and it's kind of scary,

how seeing everybody like,
starting to work harder

to be able to make mat and stuff.

It's... It's just kind of nerve-racking.

I keep it in the back of my head
that I have to be on my feet every time.

I have to have good technique,
feet together, stick stand.

Cheerleading,
it's all a mind game.

If you don't believe
that you're gonna be the best, then...

you're not gonna be the best, so...

Daytona last year, y'all.

It broke my heart. It really did.

We can't blame anybody but ourselves.

If we would've done our jobs,
we would've been what?

Champions, right?
So, we can't give them any reason.

Y'all know that.
You knew that when you came in.

I would like to have won too.

That was probably the most adrenaline
I've ever had in a routine.

I came off, like, not winded whatsoever.
I didn't feel any kind of...

After Daytona,
I was feeling defeated.

And I've already felt that once,
and I refuse to feel it again.

Hey, listen up!

There's no reason to have conversations
when somebody's talking,

and we just did a run-through like that.

Not everything's gonna
be perfect, but listen up.

We don't have time to waste.

We go through this whole year
grinding and dying and getting hurt,

and going through all these
mental battles just to compete.

I don't mean to be a hard-ass,
but that wasn't acceptable!

Jada, she's the type of girl
that if someone tells you you can't do it,

she'll prove you wrong.

Jada!

- Navarro has a tumbler Lexi.
- Yes. Mm-hm.

How does Jada
compare to her?

Lexi's definitely powerful.
Lexi can pull things...

that, you know, I wouldn't
expect her to be able to do.

I think Jada's cleaner than her,
without a doubt.

She is our most elite female tumbler.

She's an amazing mid-layer for a pyramid.

She's also a really good flyer.
She is beautiful in the air.

It is something special to watch.

I've won
every competition there is.

That gave me a lot of confidence.

I'm clearly doing something right.

All the talking and the joking,
you need to cut it back

because it's really messing
with my mental.

I don't like hearing
little jokes in my ear

and everything
when I'm trying to focus on doing this.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer
or anything like that, but...

treat as if we're in Daytona

because I assure you, you're not
gonna be joking around, not one bit.

I've always been a leader, and I actually

want to do better for my team
instead of just myself or my coach.

I'm trying to impress my teammates.

I'm trying to be a role model for them
and lead the best I can.

Of course, as a rookie,
I didn't showcase her as much as

she probably wanted to be showcased.
She had to wait her turn.

But this year, we got it
to where she can be humbly cocky,

so she can shine in her way.

This is all I'm doing.
This is all I've been working for.

And to win with my team,
I can fall out into tears.

Okay, uh, let's go.

- Start with...
- Stunts. Let's go.

Hey, get in your groups, please.

- So, I'm thinking Allie go to Jerry.
- Okay.

Who's Will gonna stunt with today?

Brooke.

Okay.

Brooke, go to Will.

One, two, three,
four, five, six, seven, sharp.

One, two, three... six, seven...

Three, four, five, six, seven...

One, three, four, five.
Too much. Seven, eight, one.

Hey, come have a seat, please!

All right.

When we get done with practice today,
I think y'all know that

La'Darius, Jerry, and I are going
to New York for a couple of days.

We'll be back Thursday night.
Uh, also, uh, good news.

Gabi is gonna meet us in New York.

She's coming back with us Thursday night,
and she'll be back on the team.

Jerry, you're faking.

Morgan, Jerry's acting
like he didn't know.

Guys,
I can't believe Gabi's coming back.

- I'm kind of excited. I'm really excited.
- I'm so excited.

I've known her for so long.
I've known her since I was 11.

- Didn't she go to your gym?
- A few times.

When I was in LA with her,
we were all joking on her live saying,

"Would you ever come back?" She was like,
"I honestly miss the environment so much."

Like, "I miss all the people."

Like, "Being at practice
and stuff just made me miss it so much,

and miss being with everybody."
And then where is she?

- We'll see her Thursday!
- She's coming back.

Like, "You'll be at practice."

She felt bad.

She felt bad for
not working the first semester with us.

She didn't want
to come take someone's spot,

but she's missed it so much. She was like,
"In class, y'all seemed so awesome."

- We're crazy.
- We are.

Do you think she's gonna
let Faith mid-layer?

- Right now, it's Brooke, but that's Gabi.
- Yeah.

She said she felt bad
because everyone's working hard.

Then she's gonna come
and take someone's spot.

- Know what I mean?
- 'Cause she's Gabi Butler.

You can do that when you're that good.

- Exactly.
- Be better.

- Then no one will come for your spot.
- Be better, that's all you gotta do.

Let's go!

Let's go!

We'll do the same thing
we did on Monday, okay?

You have two more minutes
to warm up if you need to and let's go.

Here we go.

Push! Pull! Yes, ma'am!

- Let's go, Brooke!
- Let's go, little!

Come on, Brooke! Push!

Get out of your head.
This is a skill you know.

Monica literally just saw that.

It's fine!

Hey, finish up. Let's go.

- You have the red pen?
- What?

- Find a red pen for me.
- Please.

Please. Sorry.

All right, y'all ready?

Jay!

Come on, Jay!

Push! Pull! Stick stand.

- His jumps aren't...
- I know, he didn't jump for so long.

- Right.
- La'Darius.

Give me face!

Push, push, pull, pull.

- Yes!
- Extra.

- Yes! Cheetahs 2015!
- Lexi!

- Lexi!
- Lexi!

Come on, Lexi!

Hey! Pull! Stick stand!

Get it, girl!

Yes!

- That is so pretty.
- Brooke.

- Come on, you got it.
- Come on, Brooke!

Stick stand! Yes!

Good job.

Toe point, toe point!

Okay. That got better. It did.

Gill.

- Come on, Gill! Come on!
- Let's go, girl!

Let's go, Panthers!

Stick stand!

Panthers 2014! Get it, girl!

Yes!

- I'm like...
- What?

I'm freaking out for no reason.

- You're good.
- Literally doesn't even matter.

Maddy!

Come on, Maddy.

Stick stand!

Yeah!

Come on, Maddy! Let's go!

- Yes!
- Better.

The vets that don't make it
on mat their rookie year,

and then they come back,
and now they're vets,

they want to prove to Monica,
and the coaches, and everyone around

that they are capable of being on that mat
like anybody else was last year.

And so the pressure is really on.

Don't change anything, okay?
I know...

- It's nerve-racking, but...
- Yeah.

- Same today, no different.
- No, I'm good. Yeah.

I don't even feel that tired...

- Who do we wanna talk about?
- Payton.

I love Payton.
I love watching Payton.

His stunt work's great.
It was clean. Pretty to watch.

- Maddy, she's been working so hard.
- Mm-hm.

Like, she's been doing awesome.
And we switched her in the pyramid.

- She's been like...
- Yeah.

Just doing whatever we asked her to do.

Mm-hm.

Morgan. Her and Alex
have been looking really good.

- Mm-hm.
- We need to stretch her.

- Lexi.
- Lexi.

- Lexi.
- I mean, Lexi...

- Don't need to say more.
- Yeah.

- She's pretty good.
- So, Brooke...

She's been stunting with Will.

She looked decent. She looked pretty good.
Made it through the whole stunt.

She's just weak
in everything else.

I think she might
have her feelings hurt a bit.

Why?

'Cause she's been doing so much.

I know, but she can't...
Look at the rest of the routine.

- I know. I'm just saying.
- She barely can land a standing back.

- Without it being in a routine.
- I agree.

I'm just saying,
I don't know if she's been like...

"Because I've been stunting so much
with Will, and doing all this pyramid..."

I'm sure her... she hopes.

Everybody hopes.

Hey, come have a seat!

Oh gosh.

Oh gosh.

Whoa!

Okay.
These are the five stunt groups.

Titi, Maddy, and Justin.

Fernie, Faith, James.

Jerry, Allie, La'Darius.

Alex, Morgan, and TJ.

Will, Gabi, and Dillon.

Okay? Cool.

Like, we've mentioned
and said this multiple times,

as you know, doesn't mean
that you're in for the rest of the season.

or you're out for the rest of the season.

A big factor is
actually getting the routine,

and seeing who can do it, and who can't,

and who looks good, and who doesn't,
and who stays healthy, and who doesn't.

When you don't make mat,
it feels like a landslide.

It feels like an avalanche.

It feels like you have done
everything in your power

to climb up this and persevere,

and you were determined to achieve this,
and it just gets slipped under you.

Hi, Mom.

Um...

We just got done with mat tryouts.

And because I didn't make it...

I'm not really that surprised, but...

You know, it's still hard.

I was doing all
of Gabi's parts, so that was expected too.

But that's okay. I mean, she's amazing.

I kind of got my hopes up because
I was being put in a lot of parts, but...

it's just hard 'cause I just feel like...

I don't know, like, I really thought
I might've had a shot.

It's such a hard thing to do.

There's always going to be,
when you have a lot of talented people,

people that feel like
they wish they had the opportunity.

It could be one small thing that

Andy and I have decided that
that's the person over this one.

We have to get everybody
in check on that whole...

"Why them, not me on the mat?" type thing.

But we're not gonna let our practice
or preparation for Daytona be affected.

- I need my planner. I need to organize.
- Yeah.

Can we have these so we can go over it?

Yes, but I have to give an answer on this.

- Yeah, that's fine.
- Just do the Vogue shoot.

- We'll make that work.
- We need to talk about this one too.

Friday is the Red Bull cheer shoot,

and then Saturday and Sunday is
the Buick car commercial.

Can they reschedule that?

Possibly. I mean, we can call Buick
today after practice.

Okay. Let me check.

Okay. Sounds good.

We'll figure it out.

- What?
- I can just see it.

- See what?
- How amazing it's gonna look?

- No, not just that. Like...
- See what?

What else is going on

other than cheerleading.

I don't know exactly
what they're going through,

but I can only imagine
the pressure that the team now has.

And it's become
a little bit of a distraction.

I feel like Navarro
has kind of lost sight of who we are.

If someone wanted
to shoot a commercial with you,

they'd make a place and a location
for you to shoot a commercial.

Schedule it like, "Hey, we're gonna be
in Dallas, you know, on this day."

- Then they'd schedule it there.
- That's better.

There's so much more that
we have to get done, and she has to do

outside of just practice
and outside of this routine.

Even today, she had
two interviews before practice.

Of course, it's a distraction.

You might not be as focused
on what you do on the mat.

You might be focused more
on how people think of you outside.

It's definitely
the hardest season I've ever had,

but we're not bothered at all as far as
where we're at in our preparation.

That is untouched.

That's one thing
I don't want Navarro to do,

but I see a little bit of,
is that they're comfortable.

You know? I mean, who needs another ring?

What's another one gonna do?

I definitely feel like if they do lose,
they weren't here for the right reasons

or they just maybe aren't focused
on what we're here for.

And...

One, two, three, four!

Five, six, seven, eight! Cards!

In fives, music starts now.

Water!

Move, move!

That's twice you end on choreography
with your hand, Devon.

You do it three times, you come out.

Five, six, seven, eight. One. Three.

Get her chest up.

Five, six, seven, eight. One. Three.

Get her.

Y'all are throwing darts at Jada's face.

Instead of flowing her up there,
I gotta get her chest up.

Her chest isn't going up,

so you gotta think about
standing her up on top of Jada.

Okay, go. Same thing.

- Five, seven, one...
- I told y'all.

Listen up. I'm over it.

I'm over people changing up
what you're supposed to be changing up.

And Leah, it might...
it might be you in the stunt.

It might be you
that's messing up that stunt.

I would've screamed at you so loud
if you were my stunt partner.

I'd be so mad at you
for not doing your job.

But you just let that rep go.

It's getting to the point
where it's starting to get annoying.

Go to the beginning of the routine.

When we're done with practice,
we have 100 push-ups.

- Why?
- Can't hit the ground.

Kat hit the ground.

I was the only one that caught her.
I prevented her from hitting the floor.

Let's roll 'em up.
Let's do some suicides.

- Roll 'em up. Let's do some suicides.
- Oh my God. Of course.

You should've dropped it.

You should've let it go.
I wouldn't have made you do them.

You all wanna talk about it, so let's do
some suicides, something to talk about.

Biggest reason you're running now is
'cause you're not acting like a team.

You're gonna run like a team today.

You'll have to run like a team
until you start acting like a team.

Work together.

If something happened,
collectively agree on it.

Get over it. Let it go.

But if you sit there
arguing like little babies,

you're gonna run like grown-ass people.

- Let's go!
- Let's go!

You're doing good! Come on!
Pick your feet up! You're fine!

Get it moving!

Let's go, let's go!

You better push!

Ten!

Nine seconds!

- Let's go!
- Run!

Let's go, James.

Let's go, boys!

Push! Push! Push!

If you're out of breath,
and you're dying,

you are not working out
when you're supposed to be working out!

You're not putting in the extra work
that you're supposed to put in!

I'm tired of excuses!

You get to the end of a routine,
and you drop a pyramid,

I don't want to fucking hear shit!

- Yes, sir.
- Yes!

Girls, stand up!
You're not helping if you're sitting down.

All right, quiet.

I think this was long overdue.
I think this needed to happen.

Working together takes a team.

Not fighting amongst each other
takes a team, so you ran as a team,

and everybody suffered for it.

You knew it'd be tough to be on this team.
You knew how hard it was gonna be.

If you expected it to be easy,
you wouldn't have came here.

What I'm worried about the most
is I want my athletes to win.

That's what I think I feel the most.
That's the only thing that gets to me.

I want them to understand that we can win.

We're being slept on right now,
and we'll show them up at Daytona.

We're literally badass athletes.
We've been grinding this whole year.

Fuck what everybody's saying about us!
And fuck Navarro!

Now, you guys know the drill.
Repeat after me.

- Here's to you.
- Here's to you.

- Here's to me.
- Here's to me.

- National champs, we're soon to be.
- National champs, we're soon to be.

- And if the judges disagree...
- And if the judges disagree...

- Fuck them!
- Fuck them!

- Here's to we.
- Here's to we.
