Montreal beauty Apryl fell for Ohio artist Daryl after years of him courting her by drawing portraits of her, but suspecting the art of deception, Nev and Kamie fear this case is going from sketches to sketchy.

that I had posted.

And I was obviously
really appreciative.

But I would say
it was more in the past year

that we kind of got
a bit closer

and started talking more
on a daily basis.

would you say he did of you

over the course of those
three years?

- Around 10, 15 maybe?

I got to a point--
I just started sending him,

like, my favorite selfies,

and he would
do the drawing for me.

he's been shady.

He won't give her

We looked through it
more closely,

and we found that
the guy in this picture

is definitely
the guy making the art,

from what we can tell.

- So our first instinct was,

let's find out more
about this guy.

Is this really his dad?

Is there a connection
between them?

What can we discover?

So we just did a search
for Danny [bleep].

And so when we found
Danny's Facebook page,

our first thought was,
let's see

if maybe he's friends
with his son.

So we just searched
the dad's Facebook for Daryl,

and bam.

A page came up.

Now, you had said
you didn't think

Daryl had a Facebook page.
- Yeah.

- Well, this one matches

all of the posts and pictures,
and, so, like, this clearly

is his Facebook page.
- Mm-hmm.

- So that just seemed
a little weird.

Like, well, why wouldn't
you know about this

when this one's
clearly active?

- Yeah, exactly.

- Strange.
- Yeah.

- Does this sound like him?

Do you recognize his language

and his sort of style
in these posts?

- I mean, to be honest,

I'm reading these, and, like,

it's really not
the same type of things

that he would say
in a conversation with me

or that I see him
post on his Instagram.

Like, it's a little more,
I guess, vulgar and intense.

- So I'm not sure
what's going on with that.

At this point,

we figured we might as well

send him a message
on his Facebook,

but we still haven't
heard back.

Then we remembered
that you had mentioned

that weird message you got...

- From someone who

Daryl later identified to you
as his sister.

And her name was Candace.

- So we went
to the Instagram page

that sent you that message.

There's a video
of Daryl drawing on it,

so there's a connection,

obviously,
between her and him.

So, if he's real

and if he's not lying
or hiding anything,

then there's no reason
that we shouldn't just

send him a message.

- So we sent Daryl
a message on Instagram,

and right away
Daryl wrote back.

"Hey."

And then I got this message...

- What?

- Yeah.
- So strange.

- Oh, my God.

- So I was like, "Any chance
you can jump in a Zoom?"

At which point, Candace

comes in the Zoom.
- What?

- So we asked her--
why is she responding

to his DMs?
- Uh-huh.

- And in a very awkward way,
she said,

"Oh, well, I handle

"his financial sort of
business dealings.

"'Cause he gets
requests from people

"to buy art or commission work,

so I handle that for him."

- Hmm, okay.
- Weird.

- Then it came up, I said,

"Well, oh, you know--

"you actually know
Apryl, too, because

you sent her a message."
- Mm-hmm.

- And she said,
"No, I didn't."

And I was like,
"Well, we know you did

because it came
from your Instagram account."

And she said,
"Oh, I got hacked and

locked out of that account."
- That doesn't make any sense.

- None of it made sense.

The weirdest part to me was,

we're in the middle
of talking to her about you,

and all of a sudden,

she disappears
off the Zoom.

She was just gone.

No call back.
She didn't come back in.

But she messaged us.

- She just wrote back,
"I'll talk to Daryl

and get back to you."

So I hate to say it,

but there's
a strong possibility

that Candace is the person
you're talking to.

- Wow, okay.

Um, I was not prepared
for that.

- Maybe Daryl's never been
on the Instagram account.

Maybe she's been the one
who started the account

and has been running
the account the entire time

and he isn't
a social media person.

Maybe he just has Facebook.

- And the language
that he used on his Facebook,

which you hadn't seen...

and doesn't sound like Daryl

because that's not
who you're talking to.

about his voice

And so, if you're Candace

that would explain
not getting on the phone.

So that's why I'm so confused.

And the question in my mind is,
like, has it been her

that I've been DMing

and I'm thinking

that I thought
I was speaking to him,

and now I don't know

to Candace.
