Blindspot (2015–…): Season 5, Episode 4 - And My Axe! - full transcript

In order to stop a terrorist group from procuring a deadly chemical weapon, the team must remember key details from their first days at the FBI. Meanwhile, Weller worries after he gets scary news about the health of his daughter.

The mission
was mostly a success,

although I wasn't able
to procure everything.

How bad are we talking?

Let's just say I had
to improvise a little bit.

Canned meat is dependable meat.

Not as dependable as no meat.

Excuse me?

I have told you
thousands of times

to not get the Czech Doritos

because they taste
like peppery cardboard!

Look, if you got a problem
with the way I shop,

you can take it up with whoever
invented the chore wheel.

Spoiler alert: that was you.

I kinda like 'em. Ugh!

Hey, excuse me,
a wise man once told me,

"You get what you get,
and you don't get upset."

Although, he got murdered
in prison,

which was quite upsetting,
but the principle still stands.

Yes! Finally.

So, since I no longer
have access

to the FBI system...

We mourn its loss every day.

Everything we do
online take forever.

I forgot how slow
normal-people computers are.

Well, we've been digging
into that RFID drive

that we got off Hades,
the Dabbur Zann madman.

So we know Madeline
is trying to assemble

and deploy some kind
of chemical bomb, or bombs.

But we still don't know
why she's doing it,

what's driving her.

Or any specifics
about the weapons.

Well, until now.

I found a locked subfile
in the drive,

and I was able to brute force
the password to access it.

Jane, we've seen that before.

Dabbur Zann were
after that last year.

Yeah, they tried to get us

to steal it from FBI storage.

What is it?

I don't know.

So this bomb's been a part

of the Dabbur Zann's plan
for a long time.

We didn't give it to them then,

so we can't let them get it now.

Okay, I'll try to find out
more about the bomb.

I'll see if there
are any references online.

Leave me to work.

Hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Hey.
I got your thing, too.

Let me know if I got
the wrong one

or if you need me to go
back out for anything.

Probably gonna have to anyway,

because we both know Patterson's

gonna eat all the Noritos.

It's fine, thanks.
Yeah.

And, hey, if you ever
need to, you know,

find a time to talk about
anything's that bothering you,

I am totally DTF.

Excuse me?

Down to... find a time

to talk about anything
that's bothering you.

I'll keep that in mind.

I should change.

Hey.
Hey.

I thought I'd see how you are.

I know today's... tough.

Just trying to stay busy.

Look, I know we can't celebrate
Bethany's birthday with her,

so I thought I'd at least
do something for you.

Something...
she would like.

You framed it?

Mm-hmm.

Thank you.

It's the first birthday
of hers that I've missed.

Don't even know where she is.

And I can't reach out
to her, can I?

'Cause... it puts
all of us at risk.

Allie's gonna keep her safe
until all of this is over.

She gonna explain where I am?

Or... why I'm
a fugitive now?

How do you explain that
to a four-year-old?

I'm not sure that you do.

Being cut off from
our loved ones

is hard on all of us.

Yeah...

Just wish I could be
the one to protect her.

I know.

You just gotta trust...

that Allie's got that covered.

All right.

Now, I gotta...

I gotta go check in
with Rich about a few things.

Okay.
You gonna be okay?

Yeah, I'll be fine.
Okay.

Hey.

Hey, uh, I need a favor,

but I need you
to keep it between us.

Oh, okay. Well, uh,
I like sneaky Jane Doe,

How can I help you?
Looking for ways

to spice things up
in the bunker?

Not with me, obviously.
Sorry, what's up?

I need you to find a way
to check on Allie and Bethany

and make sure they're okay.

Okay, well, that's
not gonna be easy.

Allie took Bethany underground

when Madeline framed us.

Plus Allie's a US Marshal.

She hunts villains for a living.

She definitely knows
how to hide like one.

Please.

Kurt could really
use this right now.

And I-I'd love to surprise him
with some good news.

Uh, here's a...

A list of some likely aliases.

Look, I know it's
a long shot but I...

I'll do my best.

That's all I can promise.

Thanks, Rich.

You got something? Well, I managed

to track down the evidence log

for Jane and Weller's
mystery bomb.

It was on an old
cyber-anarchist website

that used to post stolen
government documents.

Unfortunately,
there's no information

on there besides
the date it was logged

into the evidence warehouse.

May 24, 2011.

I know that date.

It was my first day at
the FBI's New York office.

Oh.

Wait a second.

My very first case, we seized
a weapon during a bust

and took down the people
who created it.

Can you remember anything
else about that day?

Not much, it was so long ago.

Could you try? I mean,
anything could be useful.

Yeah, I can't.
Nothing's coming.

Come on, Tasha, you gotta try
to remember something.

We interrogated some woman.
I can't remember her name.

There was a shooting
at the same place

the chemicals were being stored.

So just to be clear,
you can't recall the details

of thwarting a cabal
of criminals dealing in

super deadly
chemical weapons bombs?

Do you realize how many times
this team has saved the world?

Fair point.
Okay.

Let's just start
from the beginning.

What did your morning look like?

I was fresh out of Quantico,

Jonas Fischer was our supervisor

before he was at the OPR.

Before he was
a Russian asset. Yeah, probably.

But that didn't make him
any easier to be around.

Ahem. All right!

Welcome, recruits,

to the New York office

of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation.

I'll be frank,
the course that you've chosen

will not be easy.

By this time next year,

approximately
half of you will be gone,

moved on to something
less demanding.

But for now, if you would
kindly select a workstation...

Now.

Please select a workstation,

get familiar with it.

It'll be your only friend
while you're here...

and you're gonna
spend a lot of time together.

Uh, you're in my seat.

Oh, yeah,
and who the hell are you?

I'm Edgar Reade.

Who the hell are you?

Okay, so your first day
at the New York office,

the day that you
first encountered

the weapon that Madeline
is planning to use...

Was the day I met Reade.

I know this is gonna be hard...

but we gotta go over
what happened that day.

Anything you remember might
help us stop Madeline,

whatever it is.
I'm trying.

It's just been too long.

All right, let's just
start with what we know.

Okay, all right, all right,
uh, years ago,

you took down a facility

that created
the same type of bomb

that Madeline
and the Dabbur Zann

are currently planning to use
in a chemical attack.

What else can you remember?

Some parts
of that day are clear.

And other parts, there's...

nothing.

I'm gonna throw this out there.

A few years ago,
I met a guy in Nepal

who taught me a, let's say,
experimental hypnosis method.

I'm gonna need
a stick of incense,

a quail feather,
and a whole bunch of Diazepam.

Hard pass.

Recall can be tricky.

Sometimes it's not just about

how much time has passed,

it's about
the memories themselves.

So let's just not think about
the details right now.

Let's just focus on
how you felt that day.

I felt...

Like I couldn't stand him.

Coffee?

Well, no, tea has all
the same benefits of coffee

but without the nasty
burnt flavor

and the jittery side effects.

Oh, so jitters are
a problem for you.

I'll be sure
and let Fischer know that

when he's partnering up agents.

All right.
That's good, that's funny.

But two tours in Afghanistan

and my time at Quantico
say I'll be just fine.

What were you doing before this?

Meter maid? Traffic cop?
Crossing guard?

NYPD, most collars
in my precinct.

Ooh, how nice for you
and your precinct.

Oh, somebody please kill me.

So how are we settling in?

I heard a rumor there
might be an open spot

on Special Agent Weller's
task force.

I was wondering
what somebody had to do

to be considered for it.

Heh. Well, aren't you
two peas in a pod?

Your colleague,
Agent Reade, asked me

that very same question
earlier today.

You know, you're not the only
ones here with ambition.

But ambition requires patience.

Everyone has to pay their dues.

You're saying we haven't?

I'm saying you're a little
big for your britches.

And, speaking of britches,

Agent Reade, if you want to be
taken seriously around here,

I'd recommend
you not come to work

dressed like you're
cleaning out the garage.

Whatever you both
think you know,

you have a lot to learn
about respect.

Humility.

Luckily, you're
in the right place.

Follow me.

Welcome to Cold Case Mountain.

Your job is to sort
these many files

for logging to their
various departments,

while also making sure
that each case contains

all proper and appropriate
documentation.

All of them?

Welcome to the New York office.

So this is a
great use of our time.

Oh, yeah, I really feel
like I'm contributing

when I'm crossing the T's on
the case of the money laundering

in an actual laundromat.

Here's one.

Body found in river
with signs of poisoning.

Seems like overkill,
if you ask me.

Wait a second, this is weird.

So you can't
remember anything in the file?

Yeah, nothing concrete.
"Body poisoned, found in river."

Yeah, well, something else

in this report caught
your attention.

What'd you see?

It wasn't what I saw,
it was what I didn't.

The autopsy report
confirmed that

there were two poisonous
substances in the guy's body,

but only one was listed by name.

So it was missing
information. We went to the lab

to see if they could help us
fill in the blanks.

I remember, we talked
to some random lab tech.

Oh, you'd be amazed how many

important things
get lost around here.

This place needs
an overhaul. We just need help

finding the missing piece
of that coroner's report.

Maybe we should just
come back tomorrow.

You guys seem
pretty slammed in here.

Oh, opposite, opposite.
It's usually much busier.

Wait...

Describe this random lab tech.

I don't know... awkward,
kinda weird, maybe?

Awkward? Kinda weird?
Tasha, that was me.

No.

It was totally me.

Who else says
"opposite opposite"?

Oh, my God, it was you.

Hey, way to make
a good first impression.

Hey, unbelievable. It was a long time ago.

Also, in your defense, I mean,
you all kinda look the same

in your white lab coats.

Fair. Let's stay focused.

Opposite, opposite.

It's usually much busier.

Besides, we noobs, we gotta
stick together, right?

Okay, so...

accessing old
interdepartmental files.

Typically I would need to get
someone to authorize this,

but since my superiors

are a little bit indisposed
at the moment,

I have a little workaround.

Oh, we don't wanna
get you in trouble.

Oh, you won't. If they
wanted me to stay away

from the databases,
they wouldn't make them

so easy to access.

'Kay.

Oh, hello.

Okay, so besides the presence
of "chemical I can't remember,"

which is listed
in the first report,

the more in-depth
coroner's report shows

"second chemical
I can't remember."

Oh, no...
this is very not good.

When you combine
these two chemicals,

it's one of the most devastating
poison gasses

on the face of the earth.

"Chemical I can't remember"

and "second chemical
I can't remember"?

It was a long time ago!
It was a long time ago!

Okay, so this... this...
This deadly compound, this gas...

Let's call it Death Gas 2000.

No, we're not gonna
call it Death Gas 2000.

It has to be the same gas
they plan to use in the bomb

they sent Kurt and Jane
to steal.

So the body in the river
must've been used to test

the Death Gas 2000,
proof of concept!

According to the info
on the RFID drive,

Madeline is planning on making
a lot of those weapons.

Can't... can't we just check in
with local chemical suppliers

in the area,
see if anything pops?

It's worth a shot.

But...

they're likely getting their
stuff from criminal sources.

Also, it's kinda hard
to pin it down

when all we have to go on is
"chemical I can't remember."

Okay, let's just
keep going over it.

There's gotta be some... Okay,
or maybe there's not!

Maybe there's nothing there.
Maybe it's just gone.

Because when I try
and go back there in my mind,

I don't see a case,
I don't see a clue trail.

I just see Reade.

He is what I see.

Look, I know this is important

and we have to figure it out,

but I've got nothing right now.

And going over it
again and again,

it isn't helping...
it's hurting.

And... break.

I think we could all use
a little breather.

Hey! Jane. Jane!

I ran that check on
Bethany, like you asked.

I got a hit.
It's not good.

A few days ago, a girl
matching Bethany's description

with one of the aliases
that you gave me,

Julie Holden, was
checked into the hospital.

We gotta go tell Kurt, right? No.

No, this...
This stays between us.

I'm sorry, I wanna make sure
I'm hearing this right.

Now, I don't have
any kids of my own,

probably, but isn't
telling a parent

that their child
is in the hospital,

like, the first rule
of parent club?

I don't wanna keep this
from Kurt, either.

But until we have all the facts,

there's no reason to give him
more to worry about.

Especially when we can't
do anything about it.

You're sure it's Bethany? Like 90%.

It would mean that
Allie just changed

some minor details
of their cover story,

which makes sense.

I mean, it's smart,
it's what I would do.

Yeah, but it makes it
harder to be certain.

90% is pretty certain.

Okay, look, if it is her,
she's at a hospital.

She's with doctors
being treated.

What more could Kurt do for her?

But if he finds out his daughter

is in the hospital
and he doesn't know why,

he is going to make
a beeline right for her

regardless of the risks.

Rich, I'm not asking you to lie,

I'm just asking you to sit tight

and keep digging
until we know more.

Please.

Sure.

Yep, I mean...

when has keeping things
from each other

ever backfired
for this group, right?

Sorry.

I'm on it. Okay?

Oh, God.

How we doing?

Well, Madeline
and the Dabbur Zann

are trying to assemble
and deploy

horrific gas weapons,
and the only thing

that might stop them

is Zapata remembering
something useful

from a case that
happened ten years ago.

And so far, all she can focus on

is that it's the first day
she met Reade.

So she got upset
and she stormed out.

So that's how we're doing.

And if she can't
give us anything...

then a lot of people could die.

I'm starting to think we should
get Rich that quail feather.

What?

Never mind, I will keep digging.

I'm gonna go and talk to her.

You mind if I sit down?

It's a free bunker.

I know how hard it is

to separate our emotions
from what we do.

And I do know what it's like
to love someone so much...

that it hurts
to even think about them.

I know you do.

Happy Bethany's birthday,
by the way.

Thanks.

I didn't think it
would be this hard

not having him here.

Feels like I lost
a piece of myself.

The bond that you two had
was so strong,

and I'm sorry I've been
asking you to remember

all of these things.

But something terrible
is happening.

And we might be the only
people that can stop that.

Reade and I knew Fischer
would say no

to us following leads,
so we went around him.

I can't remember her name,

but we brought in a scientist.

Her company had something to do

with those particular chemicals.

Thanks for agreeing
to meet with us.

To be clear,
this is just an interview...

It's not an interrogation.

I-I was getting to that,
but exactly.

Of course, I'm happy to help.

Maybe you could start... Okay,
now, could you start

talking about, uh, these
particular substances here?

These chemicals haven't been

produced by our company
for years.

But you did... You did produce them.

Among countless others.

Listen, I'm happy
to answer your questions,

but could you tell me how long
it's gonna take?

I'm due to give a speech
at Hudson State in a few hours.

Okay, stop, stop.

This interview is over.

Ma'am, may I please offer

my most sincere apologies
for all this?

We were just talking... Nah, uh-uh.

These new recruits have
completely overstepped

the bounds of
acceptable behavior.

Please. Of course,
you're free to go.

It's really not a problem.

And again, I'm happy to help you

with whatever I can,
just give me a call.

Thank you for your help.
Sean will show you out.

You bring a woman
of her standing

into this office
without checking with me?

And then you interview her
here in interrogation

like a common criminal?

The conference room's
a little cramped at the moment.

Yeah, with like,
20 tons of case files

you tried to bury us with.

Your interviewee is a member

of a very particular,
very influential family.

She works for the company... Nah... uh-uh!

You embarrassed yourselves,

and the bureau, and me.

I will be taking this up with
Assistant Director Mayfair.

Oh, and what did you say

about 20 tons of case files?

Okay, so this Jonas Fischer
sounds like a real

four-alarm asshat. You have no idea.

Sorry, I know that's
not much to go on.

No, you gave us a lot
of new data points.

Things we didn't know.
Yeah, everything helps.

Okay, so we don't know her name,

but we do know that she was

a scientist at a large
chemical company.

She's from
an influential family.

Guest speaker at Hudson State.

All right, I've narrowed down

the search.

Okay, are any of these a match?

No. I'm missing something.

God, why can't I just
remember her name?

Okay. She's our only lead.

Stick with it.

What happened after Fischer
shut down the interview?

I knew we should've checked with
Fischer before we brought her in.

Yeah? Why didn't you
say something then?

It's easy to know things
after they happen.

Well, if you hadn't been
stepping all over me,

we might've gotten
something useful out of her

before Fischer shut it down.

I was stepping over you?
You need to learn

a little something about
the rhythm of the interview.

"The rhythm of the interview"?

Yeah, basically the opposite

of what just happened in there.

All right,
I'll keep that in mind

the next time they actually
allow me to question somebody,

which'll be in 50 years.

What is it?

Something felt off
about that chemical lady.

I don't trust her. I was
thinking the same thing.

You know, it's almost lunch.

I hear there's a new cafe

around Hudson University
we need to try.

We'd be back before
anybody knew we were gone.

Go Hudson U.

Wait.

Hudson University? Yeah.

Earlier you said the scientist

was speaking at Hudson State.

Which is on the other side
of town, right?

We weren't using the right info

for the first search.

Okay, so entering
the new variable.

All the other values
remain the same.

Tasha Zapata...

is this your scientist?

Kerry Coleman.
That's her.

Well, looks like she vanished
right around the time

that Reade and Zapata
questioned her.

Wait a minute.

What is it?

I saw her yesterday.

I shot her.

I-I winged her.

She got away,
but she's here in Europe.

She's working with Madeline.

She part of the attack plan.

I understand you ran
into some interference.

I trust that won't affect
our timeline.

The gas will be
weaponized, positioned,

and ready for dispersal
in all ten capitol cities

by this time tomorrow.

So Kerry Coleman,
the scientist that

Reade and Zapata
interviewed years ago,

is somehow related
to the deadly gas

Madeline is trying to use
in her bombs right now?

Death Gas 2000.I'm
still not calling it that.

Hold on, you said that
you took down the operation

that made the chemicals
during the case.

If you can remember where
they were stored back then,

it might help us figure out
where they are now.

I know we found the place,
but I'm fuzzy on how.

We followed Coleman to Hudson,
but didn't turn up anything.

And after that?

Now, this part I remember.

It was the first time
Reade and I talked to you.

We had just come back from

following Coleman
to the university.

You and Fischer
were not happy. Ha! Really?

Did you think we wouldn't
figure out where you'd gone?

You should know I have
eyes and ears everywhere.

Now, I suggest you return
to working these case files

while the two of us discuss
what this means for you both,

and whether we have
to bring it up

to Assistant Director Mayfair.

Look, you don't
have to do that...

Well... well said,
Special Agent Weller.

No, I don't sound like that.

Uh, you totally do.
No!

At first.
You get used to it.

You can be a little
barky sometimes.

O-Okay, so what happened

after I, understandably,
held you accountable?

Tasha?

Tasha?

That's it, I can't
remember anything else.

It's all fading.

I'm sorry, I'm trying.

We know you are.

Our memories are so tied
to our senses.

So something sensory

could help jumpstart
your memory.

As an alternative,
my Nepalese hypnosis method

is still on the table, just...

Hold the cup in your hands.

Feel its warmth?

Now, just close your eyes...

and smell it.

It's Earl Grey.

It's Reade's favorite.

This was a mistake.

What are you talking about?

Fischer said half of us

wouldn't be here within a year.

I thought I'd at least
make it a full day.

Yeah, we messed up.

But we did what
we thought was right.

Maybe I should just transfer

someplace closer to my family.

If they'll even
grant me a transfer.

Yeah, I'm sure you
won't go crazy

working out of the Boise branch.

I'm serious.

Look, you really
pissed me off today.

And while I'm not happy

about being put on
file duty with you...

I think you might actually
be pretty good at this.

Eventually.

I just met you,
and I can already tell

you'd be miserable working at
some sleepy backwoods office.

You got me all figured out, huh?

Yeah.

And I am not letting you
off the hook.

Besides, we've got
about a million files to log.

So, whether you like it or not,

for the time being
you're stuck with me.

I'm not letting you quit.

So that's how it's gonna be?

Yeah.

Fine.

I'll stay.

But you are never allowed
to drive again.

If I'd just
let him go that day...

No, this is not your fault.

He would still be alive.

Hey, do you think
transferring him

to a different office would've
kept him out of danger?

He would've found a way
to stay in the action.

It's what he wanted.

And more than anything,

he'd want you
to see this through.

He'd want us to solve
this thing.

Yeah, I mean,
this Death Gas 2000

isn't gonna find itself.

Let's keep going.

Well, good first day.
That's one stack down.

And one million to go.

Something's still bothering me

about that Coleman interview.
But something's not right.

Yeah. It's been on my mind all day,

I just didn't wanna bring it up.

Yeah, because if
you brought it up,

we'd probably have to pursue it.

I played college football.
You know what I would do

if I had a game
I didn't feel good about?

You'd watch the tape.

The first thing I noticed
were her fingers. Yeah, they're peeling.

Mm-hmm. And notice the discoloration?

And I know she says her company
doesn't make them anymore,

but those are common
side effects for someone

who's come into contact
with one of the chemicals

found in our guy's body.

Chlorine12.
Chlorine12?

That's one of the chemicals
in the compound.

Does anything strike you
as odd about her boots?

I never would've taken you
as a fashion guy,

especially considering
your casual look.

Well, "A," I've forgotten more
fashion than you've ever known.

And "B," her boots
are insulated.

A little warm for
this time of year, no?

Not if she's been going

to a chemical
cold storage facility.

Those places get pretty chilly.

And storing this stuff
usually requires

some pretty specific equipment.

Can you pull up the photos
we took of her car

when we tailed her?
Yeah.

There. What is this?

It's for a private parking lot.

We might be able to find
where she's storing this stuff

if we match that lot
with places that can hold

both Chlorine12 and Phosgene517.

Phosgene517...
that was it.

That was it indeed.
So, knowing the two chemicals

and how you found them
in the past,

mixed with what we've learned
from the RFID drive,

that should be enough to locate
where they're keeping...

Death Gas 2000 in the area.

Coleman and the Dabbur Zann,

they met yesterday within
90 minutes of here.

So, whatever they're up to,

I'm guessing it's close by.

I will start a small
search radius in the area

and extend out from there,
shouldn't take long.

Nice work.

Jane?

Hey, I got an update.

So th-the kid that was
checked into the hospital

is definitely Bethany.

I was able to track their
doctored insurance cards.

Do you know
what's wrong with her? No, it just says

an infection of some kind,
that's all I can get.

But we really have
to tell Kurt. No!

What are you talking... Tell me what?

What's going on? Um...

I asked Rich to check
on Bethany for you.

She's in the hospital
with an infection.

That's all the information
that we have right now.

So you didn't think that's
something that I should know?

My kid is in the hospital
on her birthday?

You guys are... I have
stuff to sort out, yeah.

Look, there's nothing we can do.

Nothing. My little girl is sick.

So I should be there. Under normal
circumstances, yes, of course you should be.

We're not in
normal circumstances.

And you sticking your head up,

flying back to America
to check on her,

that's the worst thing
that you could do.

You said so yourself,
it's just too risky.

That is not your
decision to make.

I made a call.

And I'm sorry
that this is happening.

But the best thing that
we can do right now

is focus on stopping Madeline,

because once we do,
we get to go home.

Okay?

No. It's not okay.

Jeez.

I hate it when
Mom and Dad fight.

Hmm. What do you want?

No, just a hiding place is good.

Mm-hmm.

Are you okay?
What's going on?

The test you got me
was positive.

Positive? Like, positive...

Like you're happy
about it, or... what...

I'm pregnant.

You're pregnant?

Like, full-on,
all-the-way pregnant?

No, like half.
Yes, I'm full pregnant.

Also, shut up. Okay, sorry, I...

Is it Reade's?

What am I supposed to do
with this right now

with everything
that's happening?

With people's lives on the line?

I just...

All right, so...

Is everything okay?

Yeah. Yeah, what's up?
Yeah.

I know where the gas
is being stored.

It's in a town called Decin
on the Czech-German border.

You ready to move?

Yeah.

We know where the gas
is being stored.

It's in a cold
storage facility in Queens.

This is big, right?

Yeah.

Solid work. Both of you.

We'll take it from here.

I'm working on
another case right now,

so I'll brief Bravo Team,
send them out to clean it up.

Why don't you keep going
over those old files?

You might find
something else useful.

You want us to go back
to logging files?

Uh, with all due respect,
we did the legwork here.

We just wanna see it through.

How do you want us
to become good agents

if we can't finish
what we started?

All right.

Bravo Team does have
room for one more.

You two decide who goes.

Zapata should go.

She's the one who started
the investigation

and she kept it going,
so... No, take Reade.

The New York office needs
to know what he can do.

We haven't got time for this.

I'll take both of you.

Let's move.

Hey.

So, I know today's
been a bit of a drain

on the emotional front,

and I know you guys are
about to head out, but, uh...

This stays between us.

Got it?

Yes.

Lips are sealed,
you can trust me.

Mum's the word.
Not mum.

That's not the word at all.

It's a different word
that I'll think of later.

Here we go, all right,
let's move!

If you don't get
things moving soon,

it's gonna reflect very poorly
on your overall performance.

It takes as long as it takes.

Mishandling the substance
could be disastrous.

Forgive me
if I put safety first.

Looks like we're
almost ready to go.

This truck should be
rolling out in moments.

Okay.

So the warehouse
has got two entrances.

Jane and I will take the front,
you got the back.

Tash, after what happened
in the warehouse in Dresden,

with Hades...
no hesitation.

I'm good.

You say move, I'll move.

Of course we get stuck
guarding the damn back door.

When I was in Afghanistan,
I was usually

the first one
through the door, so...

Can we stop this?

Stop what?

You keep bringing up
your past in the military

because you feel threatened
by my time in the NYPD.

I get it, most guys
feel threatened by that.

Almost as bad as my boyfriend.

Yeah?
What's his problem?

I don't know,
he wants me to have

a nice, safe desk job.

He'd not be happy that
I'm doing this on day one.

Maybe he's not
the right guy for you.

Shots fired.

Do you need assistance
or should we hold position?

Tasha, move in now.

Tash, get in here now.

Hey, freeze!

Freeze.

Drop it!
Reade!

Tasha! We need you now!

Go in!

Tasha, you copy?

Ohh!

Gah!

Wasn't sure you were gonna show.

Thanks for the assist.

You okay?

No, but I will be.

Coleman and some of her men

got away, but we have secured
the chemicals.

Unfortunately, the device
is still out there somewhere.

We'll make sure the
gas and the men we took down

end up in the right hands,
then we'll head back.

Copy that, we'll see you soon.

Nouveau Rich and
Patt-ington Bear signing off.

No, no, just no.

I'm sorry, those are
our new codenames.

I can't change them,
th-that's the rules.

What's going on with
you and Zapata?

I don't know what
you're talking about.

What do you mean?
I don't have any secrets.

What's going on
with youand Zapata?

If something is going on,
I deserve to know.

We all do.

Tasha made a pass at me,
and I rejected her.

Fine.

Don't tell me.

Oh, come on.

Okay, listen, listen, listen.

If something was going on
with Zapata...

And I'm not saying
that it is, okay?

So don't quote me, don't say
that I said that to her.

But don't you think that
you would find out eventually?

Yeah...
she does do things

in her own way and her own time.

Okay.

So we good?
Patter-ick Ewing?

That one's worse. That
one's way worse. Yeah.

Oh, no.

Briana's not missing, is she?

No... this was Madeline.

Okay, the authorities
should be here soon

so let's split up,

take our own path
back to the bunker.

All right,
see you guys back home.

Good luck.

Tash.

Good work today.

Yeah, with everything.
That... that wasn't easy.

See you guys back there.

Kurt, wait.

Can we please not leave angry?

Our lives are so
unpredictable right now.

If we go our separate ways
and something...

something were to happen...

I'm sorry about Bethany.

I should've told you.

Yeah.

I'm still trying to get used
to this new normal.

Sometimes I'll make
the right call,

sometimes I won't.

This time I didn't.

We've already lost so much.

The thought of losing
someone so precious to me,

it hurts, and I hate it.

I know. Me too.

I'll see you back there, okay?

Yeah.

I love you.

Bye.

Wow.

You really took Fischer's
fashion note hard.

You think you might be
overdoing it just a little?

Not in the least.

And I am not about to
apologize for looking good.

So, another day at the office.
Think we can top yesterday?

Yeah, I'm willing
to give it a shot.

How's your boyfriend
feel about you

being in the field already?

Uh, yeah, that guy's not
my boyfriend anymore.

I think I'm done
with relationships.

They tend not to go well
with what we do.

Tell me about it.

You know, I was thinking
about going to the bar

down the street
tonight after work.

Watch the game,
drink a beer or two.

You in? Game and a
beer? Well, twist my arm.

Assuming we survive climbing up
the rest of Cold Case Mountain.

We'll just take it one
case at a time. Yeah.

Hey, Zapata?
Hmm?

Thank you for saving
my life yesterday.

I owe you one.

You know what?
You owe me a beer.

Uhh!

Jane!

Agh!

Greg, move your head!
