It's always been my dream.

When I was a little boy,

I always really wanted
to make people laugh.

So I randomly asked my dad,

a ventriloquist dummy?"

And he just looked at me

I just started practicing,
like, every day

and my school had
a third-grade talent show.

The feeling I get when
I make somebody else laugh...

Currently, what I do
is social media,

and I feel like
everything that I've done

has kind of led up
to this moment.

for a ventriloquist

which has always been my dream.

So when did you decide
you were funny?

I was born deaf into a family
that does not sign,

and they're all hearing,
so it was just me.

So communication
has always been

something that
I have struggled with.

I think early on
I found that comedy

is a language
everyone understands.

If I say something
and you laugh at it,

that's a connection.

I always love that feeling.

Why "AGT"?

This is one of the biggest
stages in the world,

and watching some
of the people that "AGT"

has given opportunities to
has given me more confidence

to pursue this for myself.

"America's Got Talent,"
it's my mom's favorite show.

We watched it together
growing up,

and it's surreal to be here.

I'm a comedian.

I'm actually a touring comic
right now,

I wanted to come to.

watching so many other comics

with disabilities come here
and succeed before I did.

When I see other people
with disability on this stage

and thriving, I know that
they were given the tools

to be able to succeed here

So I dual majored in college.

I studied sign language

and... Which that felt like
a freebie, right?

But I also majored
in zoo-keeping,

which seemed like
a really fun thing at the time,

but now I have a degree
in American Sign Language

and zoo-keeping.

And Koko
the sign language gorilla

died, like, four years ago.

[laughter]

So what I'm saying is that
comedy has to work out for me.

[laughter]

Yeah, this has to go, guys.
This has to go good.

My safety net is dead.
She's gone, so...

I know, it's very sad.

So I, actually,
I applied to work

at the Koko Foundation
when I was in college

and they rejected me
because I have hearing loss.

[crowd booing]

But they... yes,
boo the Koko Foundation.

They told me
I was a liability issue

because if the gorilla
were to sneak up on me,

I would not be able to hear it.

Which I can't say
with any degree of certainty,

but probably.
That seems true.

So you guys seem like
a nice crowd

full of hearing people,

so I'm just gonna toss this
question out into the room.

Um... What are
y'all gonna do different

if a gorilla sneaks up on you?

you guys here to do on "AGT"?

We're here for two reasons.

The first is,
we've spent a lot of our time

preparing and prepping
to play football

at a really high level,
but inside all of us,

there's still this little kid
that always had this dream

to sing on a big stage,
and that is happening.

So, you know, that dream
is coming alive.

And I got to tell you,
we're actively recruiting, sir.

How are you?

Well, I can see that.

It's very,
very nice to meet you.

So we're the Players' choir,
Football Players' choir.

We play professional football,
all of us.

-Whoa!

Do you all play
for different teams?

Well, some of played
on the same team.

-Yeah.
-But majority,

we all played
on different teams,

went against each other.
Yeah.

Okay, so you were kind of
rivals and now you're friends.

-Teammates, brothers.
-That's right.

This is amazing.

How did you get started?

In 2004, we got on the stage

with a gospel concert
that we do every year,

every Superbowl, it's called
Celebration of Gospel.

And Patti LaBelle got on stage

and she said,

"I see all these
good-looking men.

Let me see who can sing."

And she started
passing the mic around

and she found out
some of us got a little talent.

And so that's
how it all started.

-Are you serious?
-Yes, Patti LaBelle.

-That started.
-[laughs]

That's so cool.

Okay, so from there,
what happened next?

Well, we formed
the Players' choir

and we would go out
in the community

and actually go to different
fundraising events,

so St. Jude, we also support
the American Cancer Society,

and we just kind of
made a point to,

you know,
spread light and bring joy.

The world needs it, so...

Wow.

I feel like
I'm in a movie right now.

I love this.
I love stories like this.

So why did you enter "AGT"?

Time is fleeting, y'all.

If you have a dream
that you're holding on to,

take the shot.

I love these guys, man.

I mean, are you guys as
intense with your rehearsal

as being in the field
and practicing?

Yeah, we're probably worse
because...

we come from a place
that's black or white,

-we got to get it done.

And if everybody
do their job,

everybody do it right,
we gonna be together as a team.

So that's how we do it.

That's amazing.
