All or Nothing: Arsenal (2022–…): Season 1, Episode 8 - Episode #1.8 - full transcript

Breaking news, Mikel Arteta
will sign a contract extension

until the end of the 24/25 season.

- Bye!
- Bye bye.

Bye. Bye.

- Ciao.
- Bye, my love.

Ciao.

Are they right?

I probably would have waited
'til the summer,

but it feels like he's at the start
of a journey, really, for Arteta.

The kids read news and...
"Will he go somewhere else?"

"What is happening?" Or "You're gonna get
fired, Daddy, if we lose another match?"

So I just feel extremely excited,

but it's just like a new beginning,
you know.

We have a huge ambition to play
Champions League next season

and this is what we're all aiming for,

and the sun is shining

and it's a beautiful day,
so I want to enjoy it.

Because this profession,
as you guys know,

and probably being close to us

understand much better now,

it has a lot of difficult moments

and the good ones,
you have to enjoy them a lot.

My body every time I come
in this stadium is like match day.

- Is that right?
- Yeah.

- How are you?
- Yeah, good.

- Have you got the papers?
- Oh no!

You forget,
like when you bring the ring.

When you bring the ring to the wedding,
and say "Where is the ring?"

I think this sends
a really powerful message.

That image of you.

Also at this point in the season,

we're not waiting
till the end of the season.

That is really powerful.

- Congratulations.
- Thank you very much.

I'm surprised with the timing.

There's still a long way to go
in the season.

There's so much still to come,
so much still to be decided.

When you love what you do,
that is called passion.

We have to believe,
we have to have energy.

Show these people how much you care.

Let's go for it.

There are just 5 games left
of the season.

Arsenal are currently sitting 4th
in the Premier League

after big wins against Chelsea
and Manchester United.

Paul's just given me my shirt
from the weekend.

Who?

- Just a Cristiano signed one.
- What!

Good joke, mate.

Yeah, yeah.

No!

Truly!

Rambo, did you get Ronaldo?

Don't worry, I'm gonna get mine.
I'm gonna get mine.

With Champions League Football
at stake,

Mikel calls a 1st team meeting
to address concerns over their defence.

I want your opinion on the match.

How do you see it?

I think we started well
in the game,

but after we give them a little bit hope
at some moments.

Laca, what do you see from outside?
Why we give them hope?

Maybe because we see the game
is good for us,

so we maybe drop a bit of focus,

we start to give ball away,

we put ourself in trouble.

It was a great win,

but we were lucky,

and when we had to be lucky,
we were lucky.

And it didn't only happen only here,
it happened against Chelsea,

it happened against Southampton.

The outcome is different,
and we should be happy,

but we should be as well aware that
there is a lot of things that we can do

much better, okay?

So this week, guys, we have to step up
the level. Let's go.

We are in high press here,

much quicker.

You're young,
you're impetuous you want everything.

The expectation is put on you as well.

I think they've dealt with it very well,
but now,

it's just gonna get
more and more intense.

Every time you give the ball away now,

5 push-ups afterwards.

Guys, guys!

For me you have to win every game
at this club

and that's the pressure.

Okay, push-ups.

The margin for error is minimal,

but I don't have to be
on that pitch making decision,

making right or wrong decision
like that can affect you

during the match.

Vale.

Use the free man, Ben.

Good, Emile, Granit.

The most difficult thing
is the pressure.

You can be so good but when the moment
is here, when pressure is so high,

it's a different game.

Good, Jack.
Careful, Laca, careful.

Speak normally.
Speak normally.

Speak normally.
Speak normally.

Speak normally.
I said, speak normally.

Hey, hey, hey!

- Oh! Oh!
- Speak normally.

Hey!

Please, speak normally.

Stop!

- Hey, it's fine.
- It's fine, it's fine.

This...

is normal in football.

If you have players
who want to win, it is normal,

if you have players who doesn't care,
it will never happen.

When we came back in the dressing room
I came back to,

to say sorry because sometimes
you just become crazy.

It's just special to win.

As well as coping with
the end-of-season intensity,

Mikel also has injuries to contend with.

Quite low down now.

Before... Post-game it was kinda,
more medial than proximal but...

So it's probably some swelling
that's trapped down there.

Yeah, don't like that.

Still don't like that.

Yeah? Still on that medial side.

I think if I was going to hedge my bets,
I think it's more medial hamstrings.

Defender Ben White's
hamstring injury isn't severe,

but it rules him out for the weekend.

26-year-old Rob Holding
is another of the club's centre backs.

This season,
most of his league appearances

have come as a late substitute
to help firm up the defence.

A lot of time,
it's been like a protocol now,

as soon as we're 1-nil up or 2-1 closing,
closing into the 80th minute or whatever,

sub me on to sort of help see it out
and if that's my role for this year,

to help the team that way,
then so be it.

We, as a filming team, think
you are the happiest man in the building.

Yeah, I get that a lot, they're saying,
"Why are you so happy all the time?"

And I'm just like, I don't know I get
paid to play football every day,

why are you not happy?

For the next match,

Arsenal make the 5 mile trip
to East London

and Rob Holding has a place
in the starting 11.

A Premier League London Derby

with Champions League qualification,

the primary aim for both West Ham
and Arsenal.

Ben White misses out
with a tight hamstring,

Rob Holding is his replacement.

In life, guys, when you have
an opportunity there,

two approaches.

Wait if it comes or fucking go for it.

My team, you guys today, we go for it,

from the first minute, like you did
against Manchester United, we go for it.

I want everybody playing forward,

taking initiative, taking risk
and making them feel

that we are here to win.

From the first fucking minute
in your face, I want to see.

They cannot handle our energy,

so we have to be physical, intelligent,

and we have to be ambitious and today,
we have to show it right now

in the first fucking minute.
Let's go.

And so it's Arsenal
who get this game underway.

Coufal plays it in low,

chance! Benrahma!

Brilliant defending
from Holding.

Nketiah nice movement,
edge of the area, shoots low,

good save by Fabianski.

This game has started
at a very high tempo.

Played in by Saka.

Arsenal make a breakthrough!

And it's a special moment
for Rob Holding.

It's his 1st Premier League goal
for Arsenal.

Tomiyasu towards Nketiah,

awkward pass.

Good response
from West Ham for going 1-nil down,

really good response.

Chance for Bowen!

And they're back on level terms.

West Ham 1, Arsenal 1.

West Ham will leave the field with
an extra little spring in their step.

Okay boys,

we are putting ourselves in trouble
with the ball.

Because we are giving the ball away
and away and away and away and away.

We have to increase our activity
defensively.

High and big, both. Both!

If not we don't win this fucking match.

Because here,

1 player here,

totally free and the other here
and Gabi has to come to stop the show.

It's focus, guys, focus,

and heart.

I don't ask you anything else.

Nothing else.

But I want to see
a different team there, guys.

A completely different team.

A team! Now I don't see a team.

I don't see a team that wants to play
in the Champions League.

You want to play in the Champions League?

Play together
in the fucking Champions League?

And I say to you, to you, to you
and everyone

and everybody that comes
on the bench to contribute, to help.

We work so hard, guys,

so hard to reach here
and we give it away.

The good thing is, we have 45 minutes

and we can destroy them
and they are there for the taking, right,

because they are physically dead.

Let's go, guys, let's go.

Let's go.

We get back under way.

Low ball into the penalty area.

Benrahma's onto it, it comes off
the side of the head of Holding.

Martinelli will collect,
still inside the penalty area.

Gabriel!

Arsenal take the lead

for the second time.

Arsenal 2-1 in front,

and they hope moving back
in to the top 4 tonight.

Out to the left wing to Fredericks,
here it comes,

into the box, poor cross.

There it is, the final whistle.

West Ham United 1, Arsenal 2,

and 3 wins in a row now for Arsenal.

Yes!

Analysing how we played,
so when we give our performances,

some better than others,

we did the crossing, we didn't do
the crossing, the high press.

I fucking see a team, guys.

In the second half, we are a team.

That's why we win.

We play shit at periods, yes,
but we are a fucking team.

I fucking kill you at half time
and you deserved it.

But in the second half,
you were much better. Okay?

And we have to...

Guys, we are going to beat everybody.

Nico, well done
with the fucking set pieces.

We have to lift this up, guys,

with the energy,
electricity of the first half,

or come here with the fucking throw,
Sambi and fucking kick the ball.

Yes, we have 4 games, guys,

4 games to go.

This one is gone, Chelsea lost here,
Liverpool lost here,

we don't lose here,

we find a way and we win,

and if you are not happy,
smile for the team

and smile, Pépé, you're all right.

Yes, let's go.

What was said at half-time?
Because them scoring and equalizing

just before the break must have,
you know,

taken the wind out of your sails.

What did Mikel say to you?

Yeah, exactly.

We were a bit disappointed to concede
that coming into just before half-time.

It would have been nice to win 1-0.

But yeah, I think
he gave us all a shouting

and telling-off

and then we came out
and looked more like a team

and played how we wanted to play.

Just wanted to ask you
about Rob Holding.

The fans are saying
he's better than Cannavaro.

Let's not compare. Rob Holding
is really good at being Rob Holding

and he needs to be really happy for
what he's done again today for the team.

Going to be 4 more
high pressure games, isn't it?

Yeah, it is. They have been high
pressure games all year.

After the start we had,
to look at where we are now

is credit to ourselves so...

Yeah, 4 to go, 4 wins hopefully,

and we'll be good as gold.

Hey mate, you all right?

Fresh off scoring
his 1st Premier League goal.

About time mate, 6 years.
6 years it took me.

Arsenal are sitting 4th.

2 points above rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Come in, guys.

Following the West Ham game,

the club's medical team meet to discuss
injuries affecting the squad.

Let's crack on.

Any new injuries from the game, Jord?

I think Rob was...
Didn't come in yesterday,

so I think we're going to check him
again today.

But I think it's great he got
through the game.

No new increase in swelling or pain.

So that's fantastic.

Tomiyasu too.

Rick had a good check of him there
yesterday.

Yeah, he was pretty
positive actually, really happy.

Yeah and that's it
and then from a rehab side,

Ben White, day 9,
still a few symptoms hanging around.

Yeah, for him to start running,

be it on the treadmill
and then progress on to the gym,

it's going to be back end of this week,
so Leeds is a definite no-no.

I think Tottenham becomes very tight

and you're running the risk
of re-injuring there so...

I think erm...
We'll know as the week goes on

but I wouldn't make
any plans for that yet.

Despite the injury worries,

Mikel and the rest of the team

prepare for their next home game
against Leeds.

We in here for a meeting or...

- No, straight out.
- Ah, buzzing.

Stepping in and then scoring

the 1st goal
to sort of set us on our way,

well, it was my head, weren't it?
It's always my head.

What's been nice
about the most recent months

is that I've been able to get involved

and feel more like a footballer
and playing and stuff,

and if the team get top 4,
I can feel like I've really helped that.

Rob doesn't look good at all.

I think he's trying to force it.
For me, he doesn't look good.

You can see he is uncomfortable.

Rob, enough.

I don't want any risk, yeah?
We'll leave it, okay?

Good ball here!

What have you done?

It's been painful all session.

Has it?

Man of the match,
scores a fucking goal.

What more can you ask from the fella?

Rob's been struggling
with his knee.

He's been sent to the physios
to assess how serious it is.

And who knows
what's wrong with my knee...

Who knows... We never know...
We don't know yet, do we?

- They don't know.
- It could be nothing.

It could just be fuck all.
And it's just...

Too much beer.

- Did you have a few little cans after?
- Na, I've not had anything.

What?

The final 2 home games
are fast approaching,

and Mikel tries every possible tactic

to keep the team on track.

I've been searching for many months
a song,

an anthem before kick-off,

so everybody feels part
of what we are doing

and it has some DNA about our club.

I'm going to share it with you.

He's called Louis Dunford,

and he's written a song
about the streets of North London.

He's a local lad,
he's a huge Arsenal fan,

he's like the sun has come to us
in my opinion in the right moment

to change and go another step
at the Emirates

because I want you to play
in an incredible atmosphere.

The fans are really, really
pushing it now

to be played on Sunday.

So if you agree with that it's very
possible that we can do it if you want.

Bukayo is from South London,
he's not North London so...

- West London.
- Oh, West.

Posh boy, eh? Knightsbridge?

Okay, sorry. Let's go!

Just back of Harrods!

Rob recovers in time
to play his 4th game in a row.

Arsenal, for me,
it feels like...

It feels like home.

There's something different here.

It's that "je ne sais quoi",

it's that thing
you can't put your finger on it,

it's just Arsenal.

This is home, you're welcome here,

and it's beautiful, you know.

We are rebooted
and we're in that mode right now.

I believe we can get back up there.

As a supporter and a believer and a fan,
you always believe it can happen.

So yeah.

We've just had a season without Europe,

and that was something
that was almost guaranteed here.

You've got to have
the big European nights here,

it's what the fans deserve.

Thanks for coming!
Thanks for having me.

The club have decided to play
Louis Dunford's song before kick-off.

It's going to be a big moment.

A huge honour
for the local musician.

The love that I got for the song
off of the fans

was well enough, like...

I don't know...
I'm a bit speechless, to be honest.

Quick thinking
from Arsenal, Eddie Nketiah

reacting brilliantly.

Arsenal dominate
the opening stages of the game...

Here's Gabriel Martinelli,

great touch from the young
Brazilian. Oh!

He's on fire.

with Eddie Nketiah scoring
2 goals in 10 minutes.

Despite a fightback in the 2nd half...

At the back post,
Diego Llorente.

the Gunners win 2-1.

After 4 wins in a row, Arsenal are now
4 points clear of Tottenham Hotspur.

If they win against
their North London rivals on Thursday,

they'll secure
Champions League qualification.

It's a massive game.

And now the tricky thing
is Kane.

We have to counter-press.

And we have to put this ball
under pressure,

as quick as possible.

In 2 passes,
they don't manage the ball well,

guys, we can kill them.

Because we are 20 metres away from goal.

And that's the game that we have to play.

It's clear? Cool, guys.

Okay.

This will be hostile, won't it?

This will be absolutely rocking.

It's as big a London Derby,
I think,

because of the prize,
that I can remember.

The prize is the future.

How does it feel that
it's Tottenham that you're battling

for the top 4 with?

There is obviously a special rivalry,
you know and er...

and you are fighting against a team that
historically has been our neighbours

and are one of the main rivals.

For me, personally, it's... let's go.

It's business time and er,

and enjoy the moment.

It all comes down to us v. Tottenham
for the top 4, so I think it's...

It'll be one of the biggest derby's
we've had with them in a while.

What's your prediction?

I'm trying not to think about it,
I think is the best way to go about it.

I'm here! I'm here!

Hat-trick tomorrow?

Fingers crossed, man, whether
it's me or someone else, you know.

As long as we get the result,
I'm gonna give my all as well so...

We just need 3 points, man,
however it gets done.

Let's go!

This way please, thank you.

It's always a fixture that stirs
the emotion for both sets of supporters.

And especially
the away game, you know,

coming to enemy territory,

where they really hate the Arsenal.

Come on you Spurs! Come on!

When was the last time you ever won
the European Cup?

Have you ever won it?
Have you ever won it?

27 times in a row, never won it, mate.
Never won it.

Being a life-long Arsenal fan,

to climb back up the ladder and secure
Champions League football here,

at their expense... Priceless.

Come together!

This journey started 9 months ago, guys.
9 months ago, we had 3 defeats,

it was the start of the season
and in the dressing room you remember

I took a pencil
and I write how I felt about you.

And I said, when I'm doubting,
when I have fear,

when I'm going through different periods,

I am so pleased, guys, that I work
with you every fucking day

and I feel privileged to do that.

Then we started to play against the Spurs

and then everybody started
to make a piece and a history,

and won everything
that I started to create.

And then we went to Dubai

"Can we dream to play
in the Champions League next year?

"Is that possible?"

It has been challenging, yes,
it has been difficult, yes,

but today we have the opportunity
to make what this journey deserves,

which is to go out there, be us
and win this fucking football match

like we deserve, guys.

Because you deserve it,

from the bottom of my heart,
you deserve it

and I want to be with you,

because I feel privileged
to represent you

and be your coach, guys.

So go out there and do it, guys.

Let's go, boys. Let's go!

For 1 of these 2,
the promised land awaits.

Just listen to the noise.

Odegaard is gonna shoot,
takes a deflection

and picked up by Hugo Lloris.

It's been a confident start by Arsenal.

Left footed ball,
Son is there, Sessegnon is there.

The referee has given a penalty.

There was a push there,
Paul Tierney spotted it.

Harry Kane from
the penalty spot against Ramsdale.

He scores.

He maintains his 100% record
from the spot against Arsenal.

Spurs continue
to trouble Arsenal's defence.

Yellow card being shown here.

I was just thinking Rob Holding

cannot keep going that tight
with Son.

Then just 7 minutes later...

Holding again getting involved.

Son's gone down.

There is contact from Holding
and it looks really bad.

Holding's in trouble,
there's the 2nd yellow card

and there is the red.

And Arsenal are down to 10 men.

Paul Tierney was left with no option.
Holding is dismissed.

It's just shite, like...

Should have never been
1 v. 1 in the first place.

All the time, 1 v. 1.

In it comes now and the header.

And it's headed into the far post
by Harry Kane,

against the 10 men of Arsenal.

Spurs 2, Arsenal nil.

And Paul Tierney...

with the half-time whistle.

That's over, that's half over,
we start again, boys, come on.

We've done it before.

Guys. Today is not the last day
when we have to fuck it up,

we have another 2 games
and we cannot forget that, okay?

It's complicated enough, we have to stay
and we have to go through this

together now.

Is that clear?

Come on.
All of us together, everyone together.

Harry Kane with his strength,

Harry Kane might pull back
towards Son.

And it's North London Derby
delight for Spurs!

The referee has blown
his final whistle.

It's a significant win.

It takes Spurs to within a point
of Arsenal, who hold on to 4th.

Okay. This game is history. Yeah?

We don't talk about this game no more,
it's gone, no social media,

no shit in the media,
don't give them absolutely nothing.

We cannot do anything about it,
it's gone, you know how we lost it.

We have to move on.

Now today, now in this moment...

Mo, look at me.

We have to win at Newcastle now, yeah?

This is gone, we cannot change it.

Guys, we learn from it

and I will complain everything
that I can to try to defend our club

because it was a fucking joke
what happened out there

and that, it's still in our hands.

And when it's in our hands, guys,

it's much better
than not having it in your hands,

because it depends on us, yeah?

And it starts now.

So everybody start
to talk about Newcastle.

Start to lift your head, guys,
and start to get the energy,

recover well and Newcastle.

Every single one. Clear?

Let's go, guys.

That was a collapse, tonight.

That was a collapse that could affect
their season from here on out.

That was not a performance
of a side that deserved to be top 4

and Rob Holding, what are you doing?

Rob seems like quite a calm
character, what do you think happened?

Well, you can question what happened
in the first action, in the second one,

anybody has played football,

any defender that has been coached
will tell you that there is no other way

to defend
because you cannot cut your arms.

I really wanted to go there

and play the game the way
we wanted to play it and erm,

and we weren't allowed to do so
and that's my regret.

I really felt like
we'd get a result, get a win.

I think everyone's emotions got...

especially what was riding on it,

especially for a team who haven't
done it before, you know,

I think that's where we became unstuck.

Don't look back, this is gone,
put it in the bin, it's in our hands,

2 games to go, we need to go
and beat Newcastle now,

and that's the aim to do it.

Hey guys.

After losing on Thursday night,

Mikel has just 3 days
to get his players ready

for a crucial match away at Newcastle.

First game of the season, guys,
I tell you,

I'm here and I tell you the first day
before we played Brentford,

Guys, after 36 games,

we have to go to Newcastle and we have
to beat Newcastle

so the last game of the season,
we can be in the Champions League,

what would you say?

- Take it.
- Would you say that? Okay.

So we are in this moment,
this is in our moment.

This is where we are, we have to go
to Newcastle and we have to beat them.

Okay?

Top 4 position
is in your own hands, two wins,

and you're there but
if you don't, you'll probably finish 5th.

Considering where you've come
from last season and this season,

is that a thing to celebrate,
that 5th will be fine?

No.

We want to be playing in
the Champions League and that's the aim,

we've come so far as I said,
it's in our hands.

And a lot has happened
in the last few months

to be in the position that we are in so,

let's go for it.

My friend,
it's Newcastle on a Monday night.

We're gonna have to work it.

I think people play
the occasion in respects of knowing

what would happen
if we won this game,

which is very difficult for a club

that's trying to get back
to those heights

and being like a win away
from doing it.

St. James' Park is buzzing,

you don't wanna go there
when they're like that.

For the first 15-20 minutes,

they're gonna be right in your face.

You have to learn how to deal

with the hostility and intensity.

You know, the whole season
pretty much comes to down to this.

We have to win.
If we don't win, top 4 is gone.

It'll be heart-breaking
if we were to miss out this late on,

at the end of the season.

It's like a cup final really so,
that's why it's so big.

It'll be a tight game but I think
we'll get a win, I trust our boys.

Arsenal are a big club, we need
to be back where we need to be,

top 4, this is the game to do it,
if we mess up today then,

it's gonna be tough.

If we can do it,
we're back in the big time

and then from there
we can do what we need to do.

Keep it up now, from the start.

Boys ah!

Let's fight together, boys,
let's fight together.

Enjoy the fight.

Get together, guys. Let's go.

Anyone?

Guys, I sense the energy.

I know the energy that is in this room
now is 6 days to go

but it's about today.

We have to take all this energy, guys,

and put it in that fucking
football pitch.

You have earned the right
to experience that today.

So now it's about confidence.

Believe in each other, guys,
believe in yourselves and play.

I want you to see determination
from the start.

So go, go forward, guys, play forward,
go forward and take initiative

in the fucking game.

Energy from the first minute, I want
to see that we want it more than them,

in every single ball.

In the base the same,
we want it more than them.

We have to see that, guys.
We're ready to go.

Let's go!

Let's go, boys, let's go.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Ben White
returns at centre half,

such an important player.

Rob Holding is suspended
after that red card.

The atmosphere inside the stadium
is electrifying.

For Arsenal, this is it, everything
is on the line that they've played

for this season.

And it comes to Arsenal,

bring the holy grail
of Champions League football

back to the Emirates Stadium.

Clever through ball.

Good save in the end.

Arsenal are under
a bit of early pressure.

Here's Saint-Maximin, beats Tomiyasu.

Wonderful save from Ramsdale,
great football from Newcastle.

It's a poor start from Arsenal.

Tomiyasu is out and they've only managed
1 shot on target in the first half.

The half time whistle blows.

Newcastle dominating,
clearly the better side so far.

Reset boys, reset,
go again. Come on.

We are losing every ball.

Every ball we have, we are losing.

Okay, in life, when you want to achieve
something you have to suffer.

You know that, yeah?

You have to earn the right to play

and to do that, you have to win
your duel, you have to be compact,

you have to win the second ball
and you have to be first on the ball.

Because at the minute, it's all them.

You know the department, it's all them
and we have to flick the switch.

The best way to do it, guys,
have the ball.

If a deep free kick here,

deep free kick here
and they are coming more,

coming and coming the ball.

You come on the ball

and leave Gabi there and Granit,

and provide them something.

Guys, we have to turn this around.

Let's go, boys, come on.

Guys, we are dreaming
for the fucking Champions League,

we're playing like
a second division team, man.

Everyone wake up now
for 45 minutes, guys.

We have to play how they are playing.

Come on, play.

Fuck me, fuck...
Wake up, guys, wake up.

We gotta fight, come on.

Newcastle continue to dominate.

Arsenal hold on.

But in the 56th minute...

desperate defending puts the ball
into their own net.

Now Arsenal
have some big problems.

They've got a mountain to climb.

Longstaff thinking it through,
Ramsdale does brilliantly, Guimarães.

This leaves Arsenal's hopes
for the Champions League next season

holding on an immensely slender thread.

Well, Arteta's steely gaze
I'm afraid says it all.

A 2-nil defeat, the hope
of finishing 4th has all but gone.

It's a devastating result
for Mikel and his players.

It doesn't matter what I say, it doesn't
matter what you say. Now, it's too late.

They were 10 000 times better
than us today.

In everything,
we didn't earn the right to play,

we didn't win a fucking duel,
we didn't win a second ball,

we were horrible with the fucking ball,

we had no organisation,
we have nothing, guys.

Nothing.

So now...

shut your mouth and eat it.

We could have conceded 8 goals

and you see the chances you will cry,

you will cry the way we have competed.

It's not that we have competed,

it's we didn't compete at all
in the game.

It's fucking embarrassing to come here
and work the way we have done it.

Embarrassing, guys!

What happened today
is fucking unacceptable

and if you accept something like this,
you live in a different world, guys.

In a different world, guys.

Don't worry, I will face the people.

But today it's hard to defend you, guys.
Hard.

I will take all the shit again.

No worries.

I'll be prepared tomorrow
to start training, to beat Everton,

because we have our fans there.

You never know what happens
in football, they might lose at Norwich,

you don't know.

It's such a sad,
sad moment of my life.

I think Newcastle had the better heart,
I'll be honest with you.

Newcastle looked the better team,

they were pressing a lot more hard
and it's hard, it's sad to see.

This was in our hands.

This was completely in our hands

and we've come here,
no offence to Newcastle,

but we should be beating them here,
we should be beating them.

We had the Champions League
in our hands.

I ain't seen us qualify for it
in about 6 years, this is killing me.

It seems a bit quiet.

But it always should do,
shouldn't it, really.

It would be weird if people came
in laughing and joking and really loud,

you'd be like...

a few people hurting.

It's obviously really
disappointing...

You think back and what you could have
done better and you know, like,

I haven't played for 3 weeks

and I come on and score
an own goal straight away.

It's obviously shit but...

Not that you can focus too much
on stuff like that,

it's the whole season
we've all done so well and...

You know, next season,
I'm sure we'll go again and do better.

When you're so close,
to achieve something big

and maybe don't take it...

This is more disappointing,

but it's the past,
we can't change it,

we can't change
the Newcastle game as well now.

We had something to do, we didn't.

Too many reasons why and...

We are now here waiting and hoping
for the other team now.

We still have
a chance to play Champions League.

Yeah, we have to just pray

for supporters and to take 3 points.

To get back into 4th,

Arsenal need to win their final
home game of the season against Everton

and hope bottom of the table Norwich
can beat Tottenham.

Okay, last one of the season,

just going to hand it
to Mikel for a minute.

Well, first of all, thank you all.

It's been a long journey again and a...

a very challenging one this season,

but I think that we have come
a long way as a club.

What we've done together,

showing incredible unity
between the staff, the players,

everybody involved from the club

and especially with our people,

which has been incredibly supportive
throughout the season,

especially in difficult moments.

We've done it the way
we predicted a year ago,

with a lot of young players,

with the senior players helping

and with our crowds again
in our stadium

and with a real sense
of connections around the place.

To be honest, at the start
of the season, I was not expecting

to finish anywhere near the top 4.

So overall, like, I think
we had a decent season.

If it's European League,
Champions League,

I can't complain, I don't mind.

Of course I always remain positive
for my team,

'cause I support them
through the ups and downs.

We want to take
the club to the next level.

Hopefully, in front of our people,
we can live another great day.

Things looking to get off
to a good bright start.

Martinelli shot, oh, he's appealing
for a handball. Penalty.

And Martinelli scores.

Sends Begovic the wrong way
with a very nice penalty

and Arsenal lead 1-nil.

It's flicked on and in!

2-nil to Arsenal,
turned in by Eddie Nketiah.

We have
the greatest job in the world, I think.

Sometimes,
I know it's hard to remember this

because of different reason but still
I think you have to love every day,

you have to enjoy every day

because we don't know
what's gonna happen tomorrow.

The bad news
is that Tottenham are 2 up at Norwich,

so you can almost give up hope there,
I think.

We've had some amazing times,

and obviously it's disappointing,
but like we said,

once you step out over the summer,
I think we'll look back

and we'll know it's a huge chance
which we we've missed,

but it's also a season of progress.

Here's Cédric.
Oh, what a goal!

Cédric Soares.

The fans, they are incredible.

It has been really, really special.

We want to be in European competitions,
and I think we have the quality

and slowly, it's showing.

It's gone through
Gabriel, it's in.

Cédric has the assist,
Gabriel has scored now, it's 4-1.

Sitting here now,

I think about finishing 8th
in the Premier League, 2 years in a row

and to take the step forward,

to be qualified for the Europa League...

I think it's been
a really successful season,

but of course with a bit
of a tinge of disappointment

because we had done so well.

We'll still keep fighting
right till the end.

There we have it,
the final whistle goes

and Arsenal have run out
very, very comfortable winners.

Mikel Arteta all smiles.

The club
is really coming together,

I think we're poised for future success

because of the experiences
a lot of these players

have gained along the way.

You have to be philosophical

simply because the success
this season was finishing 5th

and getting that progress.

Guys, after today,
obviously, we're not gonna see each other

for a while so,
the first thing I would like to say

is that I repeated it
time and time again,

how proud I am and how lucky
and how grateful I am

to work with you every single day.

Since the day that I arrived to today,

how I feel with you, guys,
personally, emotionally,

professionally,

I don't know if I'm going
to experience that in my career again.

For this group I feel so attached.

So first of all I want to say thank you,

thank you for all the...
especially the difficult moments,

because I have enjoyed
the difficult moments.

We have raised expectations
that were really difficult to fulfil,

and I know for me the...

has been the way we gave it away.

We can give it away but the way
is what has been really painful

and will probably stay there
for a long time.

You guys deserve some good holidays.

You deserve my gratitude

and I think I talk on behalf
of all the staff,

for the way you are as a people,
guys, how you accepted decisions,

how you accepted sometimes mistakes
that I can make or the club can make,

but how you stick together...

So again, thank you so much.

I hope you enjoy your holidays,
your break,

because you deserve it, guys,
and I see you all next season, okay?

Thank you.

Let's go, boys.

Let's go, boys.
Phones away and let's go.

An astonishing save!
