Why did Erik revise his statement?

Eva, I'd do anything for you, but you'll
just get sick from all the speculation.

- What are you doing?
- I saw you were here.

Fucking son of a murderer.

- You haven't killed anyone.
- I don't know.

Thank you.

- Isn't William home?
- No.

- Can I ask you something?
- Anything.

Why wasn't there a reconstruction
of Tonje's testimony?

That wasn't common back then.

- She was the only witness.
- We had no reason to doubt her.

- You should have.
- I worked on this for a whole year.

- I followed up every lead.
- It's probably not too late.

Now?

You're the only one I can turn to.

How's it possible not to remember?

- You have to remember something.
- No.

- But Tonje...
- Tonje who?

- Tonje who?
- A childhood friend who...

..who saw me
at the time of the murder.

Then you haven't done it.

No. Of course not.

But you cried.

Yeah. I don't know. It was...

Yes? Why?

When? Okay.

- Why?
- It was never investigated.

- Are you saying I lied?
- No, but...

- I was acquitted.
- I don't understand.

- Have you reopened the case?
- It was never formally closed.

Everyone wants to find out
what happened that night, right?

When you're saying reconstruction,

what does that mean
in the practical sense?

We want to reconstruct
the conditions of that night-

-to determine whether Tonje
could have seen what she testified.

Does that mean that
you will come into my house?

The Criminal Police will be there
for just a couple of hours.

Why? Why now?

- Eva.
- You're not legally obliged

to do this,
but I advise you to show up.

Aksel.

I'm not doing it.
You don't have to do it either.

You have to. Otherwise
they'll talk trash for 20 more years.

- We're leaving.
- You're going home?

Yeah, we have to get back
to work, school and all the rest.

Okay. Have a safe flight.
Good luck.

Yeah. You too.

- Did you shoot anything?
- I'll put my gun away.

- There will be a reconstruction.
- I'll put the birds in the freezer.

We could go away together.

- Somewhere warm.
- Go away?

Yes, didn't you want
to go to the Maldives?

- Idiot.
- Fine. We'll do it the easy way.

- We split everything 50/50.
- Is it the money?

And your little hotel adventure
with Inger? William.

- Seriously?
- 50/50 is more than fair.

I'll not let you get your hands
on the company capital.

So that's how you want it.

I will not let you
destroy everything again.

- Are you eating roe?
- Quinoa. Lots of proteins.

Have a sweet bun instead.

Marianne made them.

- Good, huh?
- Yes. Very.

Svein.

Are you leaving?

- Are you okay?
- Yeah.

- I don't know what he was thinking.
- Your boyfriend?

I don't know any more.

Do you have to leave?

- Will you be back?
- I don't know.

This is my stop.

What did you want to show me?

You have to see this.

You used to be able
to talk to me about anything.

We used to sit here, you and I.
Do you remember?

Can't you just tell me what happened?

It wasn't me.

Look at these.

Did she go out with anyone
other than me?

Did you know about this?

Tonje lied for you, just like Erik.

- Erik? What are you talking about?
- Little, sweet Erik.

Do you know how loyal he was to you?

You're sick in the head.

It's my daughter. You don't get
to show this to anyone.

- Mum's frantic.
- It's the school holidays.

I can decide for myself
whom I want to stay with.

Are you hungry? Hawaii Burger?

- Hawaii Burger?
- With pineapple. It's yummy.

- No, thanks.
- Are you just going to sit here?

I'm waiting for someone.

Is it a girl?

Say hello from me.

- See you back home?
- Sure.

Is something wrong?

I have to sack Svein.

Oh, Lars.

I shouldn't have listened
to Aksel and his people.

I shouldn't have listened to you.

Mum was right.

- Weren't you leaving?
- Yes.

- I have a boyfriend.
- So?

- Our families hate each other.
- So?

I don't even know
how long you're staying.

So?

- I don't know you.
- So?

Hi.

Sorry.
I shouldn't have talked to your wife.

- Do you want a beer?
- Sure.

- Who else was in love with Karine?
- What?

- You followed us around all the time.
- Everyone liked Karine.

Cut it out.

- Per Olav had it bad.
- Per Olav?

- He was crazy about her.
- How so?

- He followed her around.
- Look at this.

What do you think?

- Where did you get these?
- Could he have taken them?

This doesn't mean anything.
Where did you get it?

Someone left it on my doorstep.

- Someone wants to mess with you.
- Who?

I don't know,
but someone wants to mess with you.

Could it be Per Olav?

Yes, of course it could be Per Olav.

Here.

Have a seat.

- You took them, didn't you?
- Are you stupid?

You were in love with her.

She was scared of you.

She would call me
in the middle of the night, crying.

She had nightmares about you.

That night in the boathouse,
Karine wanted me to see her home.

She was hysterical.

I was only trying to comfort her.
And then you turned up.

- You saw us.
- No.

You looked me straight in the eyes.
You came towards us.

You ripped out
the whole window frame.

- The frame?
- The window frame in the boathouse.

- You don't remember.
- I remember...

- How can you know anything?
- I went home. I went to bed.

Yeah, sure.

Yes, because Tonje said you did.

Hi. I looked for you at Solar Tech,
but I heard you had left.

I just wanted to tell you that even
though we've had our differences, -

-I never intended
to cause you any suffering.

I know how convincing he can be.

It's not too late.

I understand that it's frightening,
but isn't it better-

-to own up to it now instead
of being convicted of perjury?

Perjury? I didn't lie.

I, too, have been in love.

I know how it
can overshadow everything.

You want to believe.

Eva, I know what I saw, okay?

Be careful, Lars.
Don't have a stroke.

My neighbour went cycling
and collapsed with a heart attack.

How's it going?

- The Chinese wants us to cut costs.
- Employees?

- Many?
- No...

- Thank you.
- Do I need to be worried?

No. Of course not.

People will understand
that you're only doing your job.

Just keep us informed
so we know things ahead of time.

Hi. Nice to see you.
I haven't seen you around in a while.

- Are you staying for dinner?
- No, I better leave.

- We have plenty of food.
- Entrecôte with Beárnaise sauce.

- It's very tempting.
- I'll set the table for one more.

- Did you see me?
- What do you mean?

- Are you certain you saw me?
- I have company, Aksel.

- We'll talk about this later.
- She doesn't want you here.

Go back inside.

Did you lie for me?

- How do you know it was me?
- I just know it.

You just know it?
You said you saw me.

- Did you see me or not?
- The way you walked...

- Tell me, did you see me or not?
- I just knew it was you.

Did you see me or not?!

- Speak!
- I don't know, Aksel.

I don't know.

Come on.

Hello, Erik. Trouble?

It doesn't work.

- Seems to be working fine.
- Yes, well...

Okay.

Roll down your window.

Åse, roll down your window.

Please.

- I'll transfer money to you.
- You can pay what you owe later.

Okay.

Hi.

I've talked to a lawyer.

Eva can drag this out,
but we have to make a decision.

Okay?
Are you sure about this, William?

I thought you wanted
to do something about this place.

I'm just thinking about the risk,
about Eva.

Steinar Lavik, a childhood friend,
wants to help me.

- But is it worth it?
- I have to do this.

I don't understand
why I have to be there.

I wasn't there back then.
Dragging all this shit back up.

What if the testimony
turns out to be false?

- What are you doing?
- None of your business.

- Yes, it is!
- You don't run my life.

- As long as you live here, I do!
- Absurd!

- What would grandma say?
- I don't give a toss!

- He's not like his dad.
- It doesn't matter!

- It's unacceptable!
- You can't assume his dad did it.

- Yes, I can.
- What if we start dating?

No, you will not start dating.

You will not be together.
You can forget about it.

- Are you ready?
- No, we're still missing one marker.

Everybody's here. We're ready.

- Are you ready?
- Yes.

Yes.

- We're ready.
- Okay.

Send marker one.

Marker two.

Marker three.

Aksel, it's over.

- I saw everything, clear as day.
- You saw me?

I don't understand why I started
having doubts. It was the situation.

When everyone says you're lying,
you start believing it.

I saw you. And I remember everything.
Crystal clear.

I saw you.

It wasn't you.

You're not a murderer.

- How did it go?
- We had no reason to doubt Tonje.

- What?
- She saw Aksel.

I don't have anything on which
to build a new case. I'm sorry.

- I understand that this is tough.
- Tough?

You know what was tough, Finn?

Seeing Karine's head smashed like...

You understand?
Seeing her hair full of blood.

That was tough.

I want him to suffer.
Do you understand?

I want him to own up
to what he's done. That's all.

Am I a bad person for wanting that?
Am I, William?

No.

Don't leave me.

Don't leave me.
I'll call the bank tomorrow.

Do what you want,
just don't leave me.

I have to talk to you. I know you
left the photos on the doorstep.

Go inside.

Now you've gone too far.

Åse! Come here!

What the fuck are you doing?
Answer me!

Åse, come.

Erik, he will kill you. Erik...
