Shuji, on a beautiful morning
at the end of spring,

I left the town with the vast landfill
and returned to my hometown

I buried my brother's ashes,
which I had kept with me,

in my parents' grave

I, the cursed one, stood
in front of a Buddhist grave,

and read a passage from the Bible for my brother

"One generation passes away,

"and another generation comes:
But the earth abides forever"

you were reading the same passage,
in the streaming sunlight on a train

I wept for you
