Take 1 (2022–…): Season 1, Episode 4 - Episode #1.4 - full transcript

WE ASKED MUSICIANS FROM DIFFERENT GENRES

WHAT IF

YOU HAD ONLY ONE CHANCE TO PRESENT
A PERFECT PERFORMANCE BEFORE YOU DIED?

THERE'S JUST ONE CONDITION

DO IT IN ONE TAKE

What if you could sing
just one song before you died?

Just one song?

I was afraid of the stage.

It could be its only moment
in the spotlight.

-If this doesn't work, we're screwed.
-Right.

It's a concert
where you only get one take.

There are a lot of things
that don't make any sense.

It's a chance to challenge myself.

Can I create the effect I want
in a place like this?

I just want this performance
to scream MAMAMOO.

There will be 200 dancers.

This wouldn't be possible without Netflix.

To be on a stage like this before I die,
at the end of my life...

-It's the time remaining until Take 1.
-Is this like a time bomb?

I've always told myself
to never regret things.

No one will judge you for practicing hard.

A RAPID CLIMB TO STARDOM
ONE YEAR AFTER HIS DEBUT

I have my own philosophy
that your sweat will never betray you.

RAIN CONQUERED THE MUSIC AWARDS IN 2004

You may get lucky
and be successful for a short while.

But if you aren't capable, you won't last.

THE PINNACLE OF UNIQUE PERFORMANCES

To myself?

I was true to myself.

I was true to myself and did my best.

If I were to evaluate myself,
I'd say I did everything I could.

If you could put on
one perfect performance

before you died,
what would you want to do?

I have a lot of things I want to do.

I don't know how much
it's going to cost you.

That's crazy.

"It will be a legendary stage."

IT WILL BE A LEGENDARY STAGE

I've never struggled
with one song like this.

Just one song.

I practiced until I couldn't take it.

I'll die if it doesn't work.

Let's start the rehearsal.
We'll continue no matter what.

Jeez, why did I agree to do this?
This is insane.

I can't do this.

There's no time.

I'm nervous and have
tons of thoughts in my head now.

"Just do it the way
you practiced it, Ji-hoon."

That's all it takes.

-Nice to meet you.
-Hello.

THE FIRST MEETING

If you could give the performance
of a lifetime before you died,

what one song would you choose
to perform?

You've got a lot of songs and hits.

I've thought long and hard
about this question,

as to which song to perform and how.

"Bad Guy," "Instead of Saying Goodbye,"

"How to Avoid the Sun," "I Do,"

"It's Raining," and "Rainism."

"Love Song," "Hip Song,"

"30 SEXY," or "LA SONG."

There's "GANG" too.

Despite my numerous songs,
if I had to choose only one song,

it would come down to "It's Raining,"
"How to Avoid the Sun," or "Rainism."

Among them, I think I'd choose "Rainism."
Yeah.

RAIN'S TAKE 1, "RAINISM"

All together!

BACK WHEN HE ENTERED
ONTO THE WORLD STAGE ON HIS WORLD TOUR

K-pop wasn't really welcomed
by the West back then.

I needed a song that showed that
our music wasn't inferior to Western pop.

A SONG AND PERFORMANCE
THAT REPRESENTS K-POP

I needed a representative song,

as well as a representative performance.

That's how "Rainism" came to be.

A SONG THAT EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE

When I heard I'd have the chance

to give my best performance
with my best song...

When I think about the best song...

that I can best perform with,

"Rainism" is the first song
that pops into my head.

Is there one message that you'd like
to deliver through your performance?

WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
OF THE PERFORMANCE?

The stage is about...

It's about the tension
between an artist and the audience.

And I use that tension as fuel
to unleash my energy on stage.

It's my goal to put on a performance

that makes you shiver from head to toe
as soon as it starts.

How can I make the performance cool?

WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES?

I'd like extravagant special effects,

as well as sound and light settings.

And on top of that, I want to book
a venue that's impossible to book

and give a performance
that's impossible to give.

Even if it's impossible,
I'd like to give it a try.

I find performances
with ordinary sets boring.

The best song performed
at the most unexpected location.

You know...

The Blue House is open to the public now.

-The Blue House?
-Yes, for the first time ever.

THE BLUE HOUSE?

THE ONE THAT IS SITUATED
IN THE HEART OF SOUTH KOREA?

THE PRESIDENT'S SPACE?

The Blue House is

a beautiful, splendid,
and fantastic space.

It wasn't open to the public
until recently, so it's almost mysterious.

But now, we can go there.

THE BLUE HOUSE OPENS TO THE PUBLIC
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 74 YEARS

To my knowledge,
no pop musicians or anyone else

have ever performed at the Blue House.

A SOLO CONCERT HAS NEVER BEEN HELD HERE

It's not about my personal gain.

I'd like people abroad to know
that this is one

of Korea's representative places.

If I can make this come true,

it could be one of
the coolest performances ever.

THIS COULD BE
THE FIRST SOLO CONCERT AT THE BLUE HOUSE

I guess you get motivated
by the idea of being the first.

DO YOU LIKE BEING A PIONEER?

It's like this.

Being first doesn't excite me.

But if I'm to put on a show,

shouldn't I do it somewhere unusual

and give people a unique experience?
I believe we have a duty to do that.

This will be a task
for the directors and writers.

It will be your task.

A TASK FOR US ALL

If it doesn't turn out right later,

I'll have to fight someone.

-Fight? With whom?
-Of course.

Us? You'll fight us?

I have to fight for what I want.

HIS EYES LOOK SERIOUS

When I get what I fight for,
it makes me that much happier.

Even if it doesn't work,
I need to try my best first.

If we can't get the Blue House...

-Can you not look at me like that?
-Why not?

As soon as I said it might not work,
your eyes changed.

HE REALLY LOOKS SERIOUS

I'm telling you,
I don't come up with a plan B.

-We must make it work.
-Right.

I hope we don't take this project lightly.
We need to do whatever we can.

-That's how hungry I am now.
-I see.

I can feel your passion,
which gives me motivation.

THE FIRST PRIORITY

WE MUST BOOK THE VENUE

WE MUST BOOK THE BLUE HOUSE

REPUBLIC OF KOREA
THE BLUE HOUSE

Hello, take this.

Take these passes.

BLUE HOUSE RELOCATION TASK FORCE
STAFF

Let's get going.

When can we come in the evening?

BLUE HOUSE SITE VISIT

The biggest problem is
that there are a lot of people.

At all times.

All visitors must leave by seven.

So after seven, your cars can come in.

We'll bring in our equipment.

We may not have enough time
to set up our equipment.

THE STAGE CAN ONLY BE SET UP
ONCE THE VISITORS LEAVE

We do have standards
for what can be brought in.

WHETHER THEY'LL GET PERMISSION
IS UP IN THE AIR

RETURNING THE BLUE HOUSE TO THE PUBLIC

-Hello.
-Hello.

You can sit here.

WE MET WITH RAIN AFTER THE SITE VISIT

-We need to have a chat.
-Sure.

-We need to talk.
-Yes.

We did contact them,
and we visited the Blue House.

-You did?
-Yes.

Isn't it good news that you visited?

We kept on knocking on the door

and finally got approval.

Why, you...

You're amazing.

You know, I just got chills.

Seriously.

-Your demeanor is different today.
-No way.

I just love competent people.

HIS EYES LOOK GENTLE

So...

We're good to go.

Are we?

We just need to go again
to check out the layout.

To see if we'll get off an airplane
or jump out of a fighter jet.

Or we could climb down the mountain.

We could install a zip line.
We just need to decide now.

More ideas are flooding in now.

DAUNTING IDEAS SPILL OUT

I thought I misheard you
when you said fighter jet.

You know there's an underground bunker
in the Blue House, don't you?

-A bunker?
-There's a bunker?

I could rise up from the bunker.

IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S HAVING FUN

We got the Blue House.
We could be the first ones to try it.

-From the bunker.
-The first.

HE LIKES BEING THE FIRST

If you take a look at the place...
We all went for a site visit.

Of course, you'll visit it too.

HIS DREAM IS BECOMING A REALITY

-Oh my.
-Here's the interior.

That's right.
That's what I was talking about.

This is what I meant.
Now that we have the venue,

I'm getting butterflies.

Why is that?

I'll be able to dance here, right?

So...

AS HE LOOKS AT THE PICTURES,
REALITY SINKS IN

Now that we have approval,

we'll need to devise a plan
for how to make the best use of it.

WITH THE VENUE DECIDED,
THE REST IS UP TO RAIN

The music will start as I come down
from the interior stairs.

WHAT HE WANTS FOR HIS PERFORMANCE

I'll do something here.

If about ten people came down
from here, it would look cool.

MANY DANCERS

If we used some special effects here
along with some lighting...

SPECIAL EFFECTS

Using a jump lift...

We could invite an audience
to enjoy the evening together.

AN AUDIENCE

We could give them a dress code.
"Dress in black."

"Bring sunglasses."

In the middle of the song, everyone could...

I think that alone
could give everyone goosebumps.

You already have it
all planned out in your head.

-Have you ever used a racing drone?
-Yes.

It could fly from Namsan Mountain
to the Blue House.

HE'S NOT DONE YET

Then it'll come from the entrance
to the room I'm in.

I'll grab it and say, "Are you ready?"

HE'S PLANNING ON GOING "BAM, BAM"
WITH A RACING DRONE

-Once I fly it, it will go like this.
-Awesome.

I'll have to coordinate it with the band.

AND A LIVE BAND

-If they get it wrong, it'll all go wrong.
-That's true.

You might do a good job,
but someone else could make a mistake.

We'll all have to go down together then.

If you make a mistake with the drone
or the camera gets shaky,

we'll all go down together.

Even if the audience makes a mistake...

RAIN IS VERY SERIOUS

I mean, we're almost done here.

I think it will last
about five to six minutes.

HE CAN PICTURE THE PERFORMANCE
IN HIS HEAD

We have something to give to you.

Okay. What is it?

You can open it.

-This?
-Yes.

What is it?

What is this?

-If you look at the screen...
-Touch it.

What is this?

So, 769 hours to what?

To Take 1.

THE TAKE ONE CLOCK
THE SHOW STARTS WHEN IT HITS 000:00:00

You're scary.

You guys are scary.

I'll... I'll give this back.

I think I'll get stressed when I see this.

Why did I agree to do this?

I like the Blue House, but...

THE COUNTDOWN TO TAKE 1 HAS BEGUN

A FEW DAYS LATER AT THE BLUE HOUSE

Let's go to the main building first.

PARK CHOONG-WON
EXECUTIVE OFFICIAL

As you make your way down,
you can look at the reception hall.

Will I be able to perform
inside the main building?

-Will I be able to dance?
-Yes.

There's a large hall under the stairs.

And the office is big.
It's about 165 square meters.

-Nobody's done this before, have they?
-No, nobody has.

-This is...
-This is grand.

It was my wish to perform
at the front garden of the Blue House.

I thought it would be impossible.

But it's come true.

THE MAIN STAGE WILL BE SET UP
AT THE GARDEN

-This is the place.
-Right.

-Isn't it the right size?
-Yes, it is. This will do just fine.

THE MAIN BUILDING
THE FIRST-FLOOR LOBBY

GOING UP THE MAIN STAIRWAY
THROUGH THE LOBBY

-Then, the drone will go up.
-Yes, it will.

-The drone will fly and come up this way.
-Right.

It will fly in.

SECOND FLOOR
THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

As I look around,

I find the Blue House so amazing.

It's splendid, grand,

and I feel its dignity.
It has an energy I can't put my finger on.

This is the reception hall.

I sat there before.

-Was it 20 years ago?
-Yes.

Fifteen years ago.

RAIN'S SEAT 15 YEARS AGO?

I sat right there.

-I sat there 15 years ago.
-You even remember where you sat.

It was during
President Roh Moo-hyun's administration.

When President Roh Moo-hyun was here,

I was invited as a delegate
to help the less fortunate.

BLUE HOUSE RECEPTION ROOM

I was given a chance
to have a talk with him.

24-YEAR-OLD RAIN

I still vividly remember where I sat.

At the time, I was in my early twenties.

And now...

I sat right here.

I'm back here as an adult.

I was so young back then,

but now I'm back as an adult.

I even remember how he was sitting.

EVEN THOUGH HE'S PERFORMED
ON COUNTLESS STAGES

I walked up here 15 years ago.

PERFORMING HERE FEELS NEW AND SPECIAL

I never knew I'd have a performance here.

I don't have any other wishes anymore.

I'm beyond honored.

It means so much to me that I get
to start my performance at the office.

The band will start to perform
when the drone comes in.

It will be grand.

THE PERFORMANCE HE'S PICTURING

The drone will fly in
and make its way up the office.

PART 1

I'll dance for about ten seconds
and fly the drone.

When the first part ends, I'll go down.

PART 2

Once I finish the first verse,
I'll walk out the door.

Then the audience will join
the group dance.

THE 2ND VERSE WILL FOLLOW THE GROUP DANCE

As long as the drone operates fine
and the performance is nailed, we're good.

HE'LL MOVE BETWEEN VARIOUS SPOTS

If it's okay with the stage director
and the lighting director,

we could...

THERE'S MORE HE WANTS TO DO

The lights can go like this. I'm sorry.

I can't help it. I have so many ideas.

-Talk to him.
-Thank you.

SEO YOUNG
STAGE DIRECTOR

Bam, bam, bam, bam.
I think I just need four beats.

HIS EYES DART AROUND WITH EVERY NEW IDEA

What did the other artists do?
Am I going overboard?

You are going overboard.

-I can't say you're not.
-Way overboard.

but you're entitled to have
the best performance of your life.

Do we have to do a rehearsal
on the day of the shoot?

The visitors leave the Blue House at six.

Since you'll need to rehearse everything
at the same time on the day before,

you can rehearse a day before the shoot.

After six...

We'll do it after six then.

As long as the drone works fine,
I think we're good.

THE DRONE IS THE BIGGEST CONCERN

If the drone works as we planned,
nothing will go wrong.

Have you ever grabbed a drone
in one of your performances?

No.

ABOUT THE RACING DRONE
THAT RAIN SAYS HE WILL GRAB

MAXIMUM SPEED: 140 KM/H
SPECIALTY: STUNT FLYING

IT LITERALLY IS A DRONE
THAT IS MADE FOR RACING

SO RAIN WILL DANCE
WHILE GRABBING SUCH A DRONE?

You heard, right?

TWO WEEKS LATER

It will come through the main entrance
and come up the stairway.

LEE SANG-HOON, PARK MIN-KYU
RACING DRONE DIRECTORS

From there, it'll go to the office
and then around me.

-You watched the video I sent you, right?
-Yes. You'll hold it.

I'll make eye contact with it.
When I do that, that's the cue.

I'll grab it and push it down.

Then the drone will be in front of me.

After that, a steady camera will replace
the racing drone.

-That's it.
-Okay.

-We'll take it slow...
-I'm feeling a bit of pressure, but...

-It's not hard.
-Let's give it a try.

-We can do it.
-I guess so.

-Shall we rehearse it?
-Sure.

Bring it here.

-I think we can do it.
-I've watched a lot of artists abroad,

but I've never seen one
doing this with a drone.

-Me neither.
-Same here.

I don't think it's ever been done.

BEING A PIONEER IS GOOD AND ALL,
BUT IT NEEDS TO BE IN ONE TAKE

-Let's try it.
-Okay.

Here we go.

It should be closer to him.

Make it go near his hand at the end.

Even closer. Slowly.

Don't get scared. Go farther in.

It should go even closer.

There. Now spin it.

AS EXPECTED, IT'S NOT EASY

It has got to go in one take.

As soon as we turn it back on,
it can start moving immediately.

You should know we have only one chance.

-I know. We'll start it back up.
-Right? So what I'm saying is...

Shall I not grab it? At all?

If you don't grab it,
it could look more natural.

HE LOOKS DESPERATE

If you don't grab it.

Just the first time, then.

I'll grab it only the first time.

HE FAILS TO CONVINCE HIM

-Get the right angle for me.
-Sure.

After that, let's try turning it.

HE CAN'T GIVE UP ON BEING THE FIRST

How much time do we have left?

Can I have my clock?

-Just a second.
-No one's ever asked for the clock before.

What? I only have 222 hours left?

-He's going to come down on us. Hurry.
-No way.

-Let's go.
-Let's go. Action.

When he's done, the drone can back off.

THE DRONE WRAPS AROUND HIM

You can stop there.

We should try that again. I'm sorry.

-You should come this way.
-Go that way, and...

Once he taps it...

It's a difficult trajectory.

It's hard as it is to come in,
but after you zoom out and zoom in,

the drums will start,
and I'll start dancing.

I'm starting to see that
I've bitten off more than I can chew.

-No, you haven't.
-I went overboard.

A MOMENT OF SUDDEN SELF-REFLECTION

Even if this were a music video,
it would take a couple of days.

-I know I've made a big mistake.
-No, you're not going overboard.

-Let's practice a few more times.
-Sure.

One, two, three, four, five...

Wait. Hold on a second.

-It could get cut off in the middle.
-Then we'll go down together.

That's how I see it.
We'll all go down together.

Turn it on.

It should still be on
when it's flown away.

I'm sorry.

I know I'm making your job hard.

But what can we do?
We need to make it work.

I want to call it a day once this is done.

I don't want to do the latter parts.

-Man.
-What's coming later?

-It'll be so tough.
-There's so much to do.

THERE'S A TON LEFT TO DO

There's more.

-It's never-ending.
-This is it.

I'm telling you, this is it.

PRACTICE WITH THE BAND

You know we're performing
at the Blue House, right?

We're not only performing on a stage,
but I'll start from inside the Blue House.

So this is how things will go.

A drone will come
into the president's office.

RAIN WILL BE INSIDE

You'll be waiting outside.

THE BAND WILL BE OUTSIDE

As you play the introduction,
I'll dance along to the beat.

We'll have to coordinate perfectly.

I'm concerned
that we'll be so far away from each other.

THEY HAVE TO BE IN SYNC

There will be monitors in front of you.

You'll have to play along
as you watch me on the monitor.

I guess you want to know how many bars
you'll carry on playing. No one knows.

We'll have to be vigilant at the scene.
That's what I'm saying.

I don't know where I'll come in.

We can't practice ahead of time,
so make sure to watch the monitor closely.

-Keep looking at the monitor.
-At the beginning?

Music, please.

INDOOR - OUTDOORS

WHEN RAIN DANCES LIKE THIS,
HE WANTS THE BAND TO PLAY LIKE THAT

NO ONE IS SURE IF IT WILL WORK

How can we get this right
by looking at the monitor?

How are we going to do this?

Wow, this is really...

One mistake,
and everything will go down the toilet.

That's right.

Okay.

THERE'S NO TIME TO BE WORRIED
THERE'S MORE WORK TO DO

DANCE PRACTICE

When you do this move,

your feet should go like this.

So...

Okay, let's take it from the top again.

-Okay.
-Okay.

ALTHOUGH IT'S JUST ONE SONG,

IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST ONE PRACTICE

Turn it on.

When I see you in dance practice,

I wonder why you push yourself so hard.

I've always told myself
to never regret things.

I've sung "Rainism" thousands of times.

But I still got nervous
while I was practicing.

People get a few chances
in their lifetime.

But if you don't do your best each time,

you won't be given a chance next time.

The time's gone by so fast.

Didn't I have 707 hours left
when we first met?

Yes, it was more than 700 hours.

I don't know how others evaluate me,

but if I had to evaluate
how I am on stage...

It's not that I was cool or the best.

It's that I was true to myself.

If I were to evaluate myself,
I'd say I did my best and was devoted.

He's spreading his legs. Two, three.

Tomorrow is the day of the rehearsal.

I feel like I'm ready.

But there's one thing I'm worried about.

I just hope...

that nothing I couldn't foresee pops up.

Things will change a little
depending on the situation.

Tomorrow is important.

We'll have to have intense rehearsals
starting from a couple of days prior.

There are so many things to be checked
on the day of the shoot.

On the day before,
I won't stop unless we nail it.

I WON'T STOP UNTIL WE NAIL IT

Hello.

D-1
THE BLUE HOUSE

Why is it so hard when it's just one song?

Because you're only performing one song.

This is crazy.

I've never worked on a project
that makes me this crazy.

This is amazing.

This is insane. I could die now.

This is dope. My gosh!

THE PLACE WHERE TAKE 1
WILL BE SHOT TOMORROW

This is amazing.

It's like a movie.

It's turned out 100 times better
than I had expected.

The initial concern I had was
if I could dance here.

We made sure we didn't harm
any object in the building

and to leave every little thing as it was.

GRASS PROTECTION MATS WERE INSTALLED

THE WHOLE TEAM WORE
OVERSHOES AT ALL TIMES

Once the stage is removed,
we need to clean the area quickly.

To protect the carpet,
I'm wearing a new pair of shoes.

We installed this carpet ourselves.

The one underneath this carpet
is the Blue House's.

The staff worked so hard
to put down the carpet.

I'm so thankful for them.

I won't have any regrets
even if I die tomorrow.

That is, only if
the performance turns out fine.

I keep getting the hiccups.

Maybe I'm nervous.

Once the band members are settled,
let me know.

Let's start the rehearsal.

Okay.

-Can everyone hear me?
-Yes.

THE BAND CHECKS THE INTERNAL SITUATION
BY THE MONITORS

Can you hear me, Tae-young?

Yes!

Okay. Let's go on the count of four.

We'll start the rehearsal
as if it's the real thing.

THE REHEARSAL STARTS

-Are you ready, Tae-young?
-Yes.

Top. One, two, three, four.

THE PART WHERE RAIN COLLABORATES
WITH THE BAND

HE ARRIVES AT THE MAIN STAIRWAY IN TIME

I'm gonna be a bad boy

Bad boy

I'm gonna be a bad bad boy

I'm going out now.

I'm going out.

Come on, fellas.

MOVING TO THE OUTDOOR STAGE

We need to run.

We need to hurry.

RAIN MADE IT ON TIME

THE DANCERS ARE STILL EN ROUTE

You were late.

You were too late.

You need to run as fast as you can.

THERE ISN'T ENOUGH TIME TO MAKE IT ACROSS

This won't do.

This is...

I'm sorry, but you'll have to run
as fast as you can.

Those of you
who were waiting at the front...

THE REHEARSAL MUST GO ON

You shouldn't forget to clap
just because you're in a hurry.

Make sure you clap.

THE REHEARSAL STARTS BACK UP

BECAUSE IT RAINED THE DAY BEFORE,
THE STAGE IS SLIPPERY

Hold on. Stop the music, please.

I'm sorry.

The guys who are coming down here.

Are your backs okay?

Yes.

Are you really okay?

I thought it would end quickly.

I wasn't worried
because we worked on it for a whole month.

If we have to set it up from scratch,
it's better that we don't do it.

I don't think
we've got enough time for that.

Or... Hold on.

So many people are working together.

That's what worries me.

How many more times
do you plan on rehearsing today?

I want to do it endlessly.

We don't have time
to rehearse tomorrow, do we?

-We don't.
-We'll just start shooting, right?

Visitors will start coming
to the Blue House in the morning,

so as soon as they leave,
we'll shoot Take 1.

Figure it out on your own.

We don't have time tomorrow.

We need to get this right.
We don't have time to rehearse tomorrow.

We need to do it now no matter what.

THERE'S NO TIME TO REHEARSE TOMORROW

I'm sorry, but can we have the EDM again?

You need to jump more.

Let's try the part we do inside again.

One more time.

Let's practice that part again.

Again.

Let's take it from the top again.

People who keep trying to perfect details
ten minutes before they go live

are the ones who succeed.

Let's take it from the top again.

This is the last time.

If there's some sort of accident or I make
a mistake despite how hard I tried,

I think I'll be able to accept
the consequences because I did my best.

It can't not work out tomorrow.
We worked so hard.

If it doesn't work out...

There's no way it won't work out.
Everything will go well.

You can hear the sound...

THE BAND'S SOUND CHECK

...through your in-ear monitors
like yesterday.

Can you check
what the dancers are up to now?

DANCE TEAM ON STANDBY

Have you all gotten changed?

TICKET DISTRIBUTION BOOTH

THE TICKET DISTRIBUTION HAS BEGUN

I've been his fan for 17 years.

Your boyfriend doesn't look too happy.

For 20 years...

Since I was in middle school...

Since I was in elementary school.

I haven't seen him perform in six years.

It's the first concert at the Blue House.

We were told to wear all-black clothing
and sunglasses.

RAIN'S SOCIAL MEDIA POST

THINGS TO PREPARE
1. DRESS CODE: BLACK

2. BLACK SUNGLASSES

Doesn't he do this move?

3. PASSION TO GET LOST IN THE BEAT

THE AUDIENCE IS OUTSIDE,
WAITING TO BE LET IN

It's a little cloudy today.
What did you say is coming?

-No way...
-Rain?

Hello.

RAIN KEEPS SIGHING

Since we don't have time to rehearse...

I'm nervous about many things.

You scared me.

Did you rip the bottoms of my pants?

-I did.
-Good.

Okay. Everything's ready now.

-He could wear this.
-Awesome. We're good to go.

Yes.

Let's get this over with
and have sundaeguk.

ALTHOUGH HE SAID HE WAS READY

HE CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL NERVOUS

-Could you gather the dancers?
-Sure.

THE AUDIENCE ENTERS

Please prepare
your cell phones and bracelets.

RAIN, YOU'RE TOO HOT

RAIN ALMIGHTY

About 25,000 people applied
to participate in this event.

But since the venue comes
with restrictions and is very special,

to maintain the building's safety
and proceed with the performance...

...we had no choice but to invite
the minimum number of people.

OUT OF 25,000 APPLICANTS,
1,000 PEOPLE WERE INVITED

Since it's being held at a special venue,
I want to enjoy the show with my fans.

REHEARSAL FOR THE GROUP PERFORMANCE

This is awesome. You can do this, right?

You just heard
the shouts and cheers of your fans.

How do you feel?

It's been four years
since I heard the shouts of my fans.

You'll see how much fun I'm having...

while I'm performing.

Thank you.

I'll go prepare then.

-Should we stick it in the same spot?
-Yes. Try pulling it down a bit.

Everyone, stand by.
We've got ten minutes to the shoot.

Hold on. Hit the slate!

Rain's Take 1 will begin shortly
at the Blue House.

We've got 4 minutes and 16 seconds
to the shoot.

-We've got four minutes.
-Okay.

-Are you ready to have some fun?
-Yes!

-Shall we jump?
-Yes!

-We're ready.
-I'm good to go.

For one show, there needs to be
hundreds of hours of tempering.

That's how you prepare yourself
for the actual battle.

Let me hear you scream!

You know we can do this.

Treat practice like the real thing
and the real thing like practice.

We've practiced this hundreds of times
for today's performance.

We have one minute left.

-Let me know when the drone is ready.
-Okay.

Okay, it's ready.

Drone's good to go.

Here it goes.

"Just do it the way
you practiced it, Ji-hoon."

Countdown.

Ten, nine, eight, seven,

six, five, four, three, two.

Start the music.

RAIN

I feel people looking at me

No matter how hard I try,
I still feel my Rainism

You're completely into me

You can't escape from me

Are you ready?

Feel the rhythm making your heart beat

You and I both shout for it, my Rainism

You've felt my body

Feel my everything

You're completely into me

You can't escape from me

You've felt my body

Feel my everything

You think that's it?

You thought it was over, didn't you?

Jump!

Jump!

Thank you.

I'm completely worn out.

I want to lie down.

I couldn't really sleep
while I was preparing for this.

It was so tiring.

I just want to lie down and fall asleep
to make myself comfortable.

I wasn't going to participate in Take 1.

Because I know how hard it is
to present a performance.

But after every gig,

I always feel glad
that I decided to do it.

-The audience doesn't want to leave.
-I know.

What should I do?

"HOW TO AVOID THE SUN"
RAIN

Oh, baby!

I am crying now

I look stupid

I hate the sun

-What is it?
-That shines over me

When somebody recognizes me

And asks me what's up

I hate that I can't answer them

I want to avoid the sun

But no matter how fast I run

The sun is always above me

You know, I lied to my boss today.

But I don't care.
The gig was amazing. I love you!

I got emotional thinking,
"What if this is his last performance?"

I loved that we got to participate too.

Everyone enjoyed it together.
I'll remember today for a long time.

I want to put it behind me

But I can't seem to do it

Yeah...

The atmosphere
at the Blue House was crazy.

I had so much fun
under the awesome lighting.

It's not easy to hold a gig
at such a prestigious place.

I'm so thankful that he had
so much respect for the place.

The best performance was held
at the best venue.

Yeah, yeah

Like the thorn that I can't take out

Rather than looking cool,

every artist, including me,
wants people to know

that it takes a lot of effort
to put together a performance.

If it hadn't been
for the staff's hard work and support,

this performance couldn't have been born.

I sincerely feel grateful.

Thank you so much.
