Run Chrissie Run! (1984) - full transcript

The action moves along quickly in this made-for-television drama about Eve, an ex-terrorist from Germany who is forced to escape to Australia with her teenage daughter Chrissie when she is sought by Riley, a lover from 17 years in the past. In turn, the IRA has sent two members after Riley because he shot an IRA soldier and must pay the consequences. The two IRA operatives looking for Riley come across a really nasty biker who wants vengeance on Eve for setting his car on fire -- and the three men finally track her and Chrissie to the wine-growing country of Barossa Valley. The final denouement is about to explode, as Riley also arrives on the scene. With under-par acting and a patchy plot, this film was never released theatrically.

Then we go to the bank,

pick up the cash, collect
Chrissie, and then take off.

- No, we don't have to go anywhere.

We can stay here.

- No, I'm afraid we have to leave.

- Why?

- Well, I'm in a little bit of trouble.

- So what's new?

(Michael groans)

- No, I mean real trouble.

- I thought you'd left...

- I have, but not under
the best of circumstances.

I killed a man,

a fellow member.

- Oh, my God!

- Right, they're not going to
let me walk away on that one.

The word's out someone's after
me, I don't know who it is,

but you can bet your
life he'll be damn good.

- That's why we have to leave.

gang of Irish stormtroopers

banging down the door.

- I'm sorry, but didn't know all this

was gonna happen, did I?

Michael is not going to give up easily.

of people for two years,

and I'll assure you

we're doing everything we can.

But I know you'll appreciate
that in a police investigation

of this kind, I'm duty bound
to remain fairly tight-lipped.

I know that you'll
realise that by helping us

you'll be helping them a great deal.

take us into Adelaide.

- Okay, we've gone far enough.

I don't know whether that's good or bad.

- It's on the way to Adelaide.

- [Michael] She might not be
using her own name, of course.

It may take days.

who's not at all happy the whole thing
